About Makena: Makena began dancing at three and competing at five, earning numerous awards and titles. A former member of the Celebrity Senior Crew, she performed at Nationals at Sea in 2017. Now based in Houston, she is a fifth-season NBA dancer and team captain. In addition to performing, she travels with Celebrity as a convention teacher and judge. Her career highlights include representing the NBA in the Philippines (2023), performing at the 2024 NBA All-Star Weekend, NBA Cup in Las Vegas, and Brazil (2025). Makena also choreographs and shares her passion by teaching at intensives, high schools, and studios.
