Ballet Technique for Folk Dancers (Tween-Adult)
In this 13-week-long class, students will improve their folk dance technique through the development of Ukrainian/ballet technique. Ballet Technique for Folk Dancers is designed for beginning to advanced level dancers who desire to improve their dance technique, posture, arm styling, foot and ankle articulation, overall strength, and artistic expression. This class is not a performance-based class, but is strongly encouraged for all dancers/performers. We are excited to dance with you!
The investment for this class for the entire semester is $200. (There is no costume fee for this class.)

Intro to Flamenco
This six-week class for older teens and adults will provide a structured introduction to the art of flamenco dance. Perfect for total beginners and intermediates wanting to refine basic skills. You’ll learn basic footwork techniques and patterns, upper body work including posture, arm and hand movements, palmas (clapping patterns), and an intro to compás or the unique rhythmic patterns of flamenco. Participants will practice these skills with a short, beginner-friendly choreography to put it all together, with plenty of repetition, feedback, and practice. Flamenco shoes, character shoes, or street shoes (close-toed) or socks can be worn for this class. Lightweight clothing that is easy to move in is recommended.
The total cost for this six-week class is $100. We also welcome drop-ins at a cost of $25 per class (paid via Venmo: @idacnorcal). We look forward to dancing with you!

All students in this class are expected to perform in the Rocklin Heritage Street Fair performance on Saturday, May 2nd. Singers are expected to be able to focus and actively participate in the class for the duration of 60 min. We are excited to sing around the world with you!

Senior Clogging is designed for advanced intermediate to early advanced cloggers who are in 4th to 8th grade (or ages 9 to 13) and who have passed the placement audition for this class AND can execute the tested skills correctly. All cloggers must have white clogging shoes for this class by our first performance. Instructor approval is required to register for this class. We are excited to dance with you!

All students in this class are expected to perform in the end-of-semester Rocklin Heritage Street Fair on Saturday, May 2nd. All returning dancers will also be performing at the Sierra Elementary Cultural Night on the evening of Thursday, January 22nd. Additionally, students will be encouraged to participate in other community shows/service opportunities throughout the semester.

Senior Collective is designed for intermediate to advanced level dancers who are in grades 8th to 12th (ages 13 to 18) and will teach them foundational steps of cultural dance and differentiation of styling across cultures. This class requires instructor approval to register. At this level, there is an emphasis on technique, styling, strengthening/conditioning, more complex choreography, and performance. Much of our choreography will focus on boy/girl partnering and lifts. We are excited to dance with you!

At this session of camp from Monday, June 29th, through Thursday, July 2nd, participants will discover dances and traditions from North & Central America. This will include countries such as Canada, the USA, and Mexico. We have prepared dances, games, snacks, folk stories, and crafts from these countries of focus – offering a comprehensive cultural experience to your child. It will be an opportunity for them to discover different countries in North & Central America through experiential learning – a unique chance you won't want them to miss.
During the week of camp, please have your child wear comfortable clothing to move in, including soft pants and athletic shoes. Have them pack a water bottle as well. We look forward to discovering and dancing with your child!

This is an Add-On only for children ages 6-11 who are signed up for an entire week of camp. This Add-On allows you to leave your child who is participating in this week of camp at Opal Studios, Roseville, under the supervision of IDAC staff during the lunch break between our morning and afternoon sessions of camp (from 12:00-1:00 PM Monday-Thursday). We will have a lunch area set up where participants can bring their lunch from home and enjoy socializing with friends in a safe environment. This allows you to potentially leave your child at Opal Studios Roseville from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM if they are eligible and signed up for both sessions of camp. This Add-On is $8 per day, or $40 per week.

If your child is age 10-18 and at an intermediate/advanced dance level, this camp is for them. At this session of camp from Monday, June 29th, through Thursday, July 2nd, participants will receive dance instruction in ballet, contemporary, lyrical, jazz, and tap dance styles, as well as develop their strength and technique through conditioning. This will be an opportunity for your dancer to receive expert training from accomplished instructors and improve through fast-paced dance workshops from each of these dance styles – a unique chance you won't want them to miss.
During the week of camp, please have your child wear dance attire, such as a leotard, tights, and a skirt/shorts. Their hair should be combed up and back, and they should bring a pair of athletic shoes for conditioning, as well as ballet shoes, tap shoes, and jazz shoes if they have them. Dance Technique Intensive (Session #2)
Welcome to IDAC's Summer Camp program! We are so excited to help improve your child's dance technique at our two dance intensives, where we will teach ballet, contemporary, lyrical, jazz, tap, and conditioning.
If your child is age 10-18 and at an intermediate/advanced dance level, this camp is for them. At this session of camp from Monday, July 13th, through Friday, July 17th, participants will receive dance instruction in ballet, contemporary, lyrical, jazz, and tap dance styles, as well as develop their strength and technique through conditioning. This will be an opportunity for your dancer to receive expert training from accomplished instructors and improve through fast-paced dance workshops from each of these dance styles – a unique chance you won't want them to miss.
During the week of camp, please have your child wear dance attire, such as a leotard, tights, and a skirt/shorts. Their hair should be combed up and back, and they should bring a pair of athletic shoes for conditioning, as well as ballet shoes, tap shoes, and jazz shoes if they have them. A water bottle and a snack are also encouraged. We look forward to dancing with your child!

In this semester long class, students will have fun learning traditional American clogging steps and a routine. All students in this class are expected to perform in the end-of-semester Rocklin Heritage Street Fair on Saturday, May 2nd. All returning dancers will also be performing at the Sierra Elementary Cultural Night on the evening of Thursday, January 22nd. Additionally, students will be encouraged to participate in other community shows/service opportunities throughout the semester. Advanced Clogging Teen is designed for high intermediate to advanced cloggers who are in 8th to 12th grade (or ages 13 to 18) and who have passed the placement audition for this class and can execute the tested skills correctly. This class requires instructor approval to register. All cloggers must have white clogging shoes for this class. We are excited to dance with you!

Elementary Collective 1
Welcome to IDAC! In this semester long class, students will have fun learning foundations of folk dance technique as well as dances from different cultures and/or time periods. All students in this class are expected to perform in the end-of-semester Rocklin Heritage Street Fair on Saturday, May 2nd. Returning dancers may also be expected to perform at the Sierra Elementary Cultural Night on the evening of Thursday, January 22nd. Additionally, there may be other community shows throughout the semester that IDAC students will be encouraged to participate in.
Elementary Collective is designed for beginner to early intermediate dancers who are in 1st to 3rd grade (or ages 6 to 9) to learn foundations of cultural dance such as skip-2-3s, grapevines and pony steps, a schottische, pas de basque, cukce, yemenite, and spatial awareness. Dancers will develop their stage presence and ability to learn choreography. Dancers are expected to be able to actively participate in the class for the duration of 60 min. We are excited to dance with you!

This six-week class for older teens and adults will provide a structured introduction to the art of flamenco dance. Perfect for total beginners and intermediates wanting to refine basic skills. You’ll learn basic footwork techniques and patterns, upper body work including posture, arm and hand movements, palmas (clapping patterns), and an intro to compás or the unique rhythmic patterns of flamenco. Participants will practice these skills with a short, beginner-friendly choreography to put it all together, with plenty of repetition, feedback, and practice. Flamenco shoes, character shoes, or street shoes (close-toed) or socks can be worn for this class. Lightweight clothing that is easy to move in is recommended.

Senior Collective Boys
In this semester-long class, students will have fun learning folk dance technique as well as dances from different cultures and/or time periods. All students in this class are expected to perform in the end-of-semester Rocklin Heritage Street Fair on Saturday, May 2nd. All returning dancers will also be performing at the Sierra Elementary Cultural Night on the evening of Thursday, January 22nd. Additionally, students will be encouraged to participate in other community shows/service opportunities throughout the semester.
This Class meets Wednesdays and most Fridays.
Senior Collective is designed for intermediate to advanced level dancers who are in grades 8th to 12th (ages 13 to 18) and will teach them foundational steps of cultural dance and differentiation of styling across cultures. This class requires instructor approval to register. At this level, we are emphasizing technique, styling, strengthening/conditioning, more complex choreography, and performance. Much of our choreography will focus on boy/girl partnering and lifts. We are excited to dance with you!
Please note: Senior Collective will have additional Friday/Saturday rehearsals throughout the semester.
The investment for this class for the entire semester is $275. There is a $75 costume fee associated with this class. At check out, it will be included in your registration fee.
