The TMJ School of Dance Company is the official student performance ensemble and ambassador of the TMJ School of Dance, showcasing the most advanced talent from our Professional Division. Designed for passionate and disciplined young artists, the Company provides a professional environment rooted in artistic excellence, cultural storytelling, and preparation for careers in concert dance.
Under the visionary leadership of school founder Terrance M. Johnson, the Company has emerged as a trailblazing youth ensemble, premiering original repertory works to captivated audiences.

Company Membership Requirements

Age Eligibility:
• Dancers must be between the ages of 8–17.

Audition Process:
• Admission to the Company is by audition only, with successful candidates selected for a one-year contract season.


Training Requirements
• Company dancers must be enrolled in the Professional Division, in either (YP I) or (YP II).
• A minimum of 12 hours of weekly training is required.
• Mandatory enrollment in the following disciplines:

• Training takes place Monday through Wednesday, from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM.

Rehearsal Requirements
• Company classes and rehearsals are held every Saturday, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Company Rehearsals from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM, based on casting

Perfect for ages 3–7, this all-in-one class promotes coordination, rhythm, flexibility, strength, and musicality through age-appropriate, high-energy instruction.

Dancers will explore:
• Ballet: Basic positions, posture, grace, and classroom etiquette
• Acro: Foundational tumbling, body control, and safe flexibility work
• Jazz: Upbeat movement, body awareness, and performance quality
• Tap: Introductory footwork, sound patterns, and rhythmic precision

This well-rounded class builds confidence, creativity, and motor skills in a nurturing and structured environment, laying the groundwork for continued training in any style.

Boys Ninja is an action-packed, open-level acrobatics and conditioning class designed specifically for boys ages 5 to 12. This 60-minute session introduces foundational acro techniques and body-weight exercises that promote strength, agility, coordination, and confidence in a supportive, boys-only environment.

Through tumbling drills, partner work, and flexibility training, students will improve:
• Core strength and balance
• Body control and coordination
• Spatial awareness and flexibility
• Discipline and focus through movement

This class supports the physical development of young male dancers and athletes, creating a space where boys can thrive, build camaraderie, and explore movement in a high-energy setting.

Open Division – Saturday School | Ages 8–12 | 60 Minutes

Open Junior Ballet is a 60-minute foundational class designed for students ages 8–12 with novice to advanced beginner experience in classical ballet. This course introduces young dancers to the essential elements of ballet technique, vocabulary, and musicality while fostering grace, coordination, and self-discipline.

Through a structured and developmentally appropriate approach, students will:
• Learn fundamental barre and center exercises
• Develop correct posture, turnout, and alignment
• Build strength, flexibility, and body awareness
• Gain exposure to classical music and ballet class etiquette

Taught in a supportive and inclusive environment, this class helps dancers build confidence and a solid technical foundation that supports growth in all styles of dance.

Enrollment Requirement:
• This course is a core requirement within the Open Division and must be taken in order to enroll in any additional Open Division classes.

Open Junior Jazz is an upbeat, high-energy 60-minute class designed for students ages 8–12 at the novice to advanced beginner level. This class introduces dancers to the dynamic world of jazz through foundational technique, expressive movement, and performance-based training.

Students will develop confidence, physical control, and musicality through a progressive curriculum that blends classical jazz elements with fun, age-appropriate choreography.

Class Focus Includes:
• Strength, flexibility, and coordination building
• Jazz fundamentals: kicks, turns, leaps, and isolations
• Rhythm, musicality, and dynamic body alignment
• Confidence and personal style through choreography and performance

Each session includes a warm-up, technical drills, across-the-floor progressions, and performance combinations to help students strengthen both their technique and stage presence.

CENLA Junior Dance Foundations is a comprehensive 90-minute class designed for students ages 8–13 in the Junior Level of the CENLA Training Program. This all-in-one class provides a well-rounded introduction to ballet, acrobatics, and jazz, offering students a dynamic and supportive environment to explore multiple genres while developing coordination, confidence, and creativity.

Each session is divided evenly into three 30-minute segments:

Ballet (30 Minutes)
Students are introduced to the foundations of classical ballet, including barre and center exercises that promote posture, alignment, strength, and grace. Emphasis is placed on technique, musicality, and class etiquette, laying the groundwork for all other dance forms.

Acrobatics (30 Minutes)
In this high-energy segment, students build flexibility, strength, and body control through floor-based acrobatic skills such as rolls, handstands, bridges, and introductory walkovers. Safety and proper technique are emphasized to ensure healthy progression and injury prevention.

Jazz (30 Minutes)
This segment introduces students to the rhythm, style, and dynamic movement of jazz dance. Dancers explore isolations, turns, kicks, and across-the-floor progressions while developing performance quality and expressive movement.

CENLA Senior Dance Foundations is a comprehensive 90-minute class tailored for students ages 14–18 in the Senior Level of the CENLA Training Program. This recreational training course combines ballet, acrobatics, and jazz into one weekly class designed to refine technique, build physical strength, and foster confidence in a structured and supportive environment.

Each session includes three 30-minute segments:

Ballet (30 Minutes)
Students strengthen their understanding of classical ballet technique with a focus on body alignment, control, and musical phrasing. Barre and center work are incorporated to improve posture, flexibility, and movement quality, while also enhancing overall dance discipline.

Acrobatics (30 Minutes)
