Practice outside of class time is required. This group will participate in one dance competition in the Superior/Duluth area in the Spring. Dancers enrolled in the Summer Dance Session have the opportunity to participate in ONE additional dance (solo or duet) during the 2025–2026 Dance Season. To begin, dancers must: Choose the style of dance they'd like to perform (lyrical, hip hop, tap, poms, etc.) and select an instructor to choreograph the routine. This instructor must be someone who is teaching them in a class for the upcoming 2025-2026 season.

Participating in a solo or duet is an exciting and rewarding experience—but it does require additional commitment and cost for both dancers and their families. A $35 non-refundable fee is due at sign-up. This covers music fees and administrative costs. Dancers will attend 2–3 private lessons to learn and clean their routine. Private lessons are billed at $35/hour, and payment is due directly to the instructor at the end of each lesson.

Dancers are expected to practice their routine weekly outside of lessons. If it becomes clear that a dancer is not practicing or putting in the required effort, ASOD reserves the right to remove any solo or duet from the performance lineup.

Celebration Talent Convention

Celebration Talent Convention - Duluth
Join the Celebration Talent staff for a one day convention with experienced, approachable, fun faculty focused on learning in a positive and nurturing environment. The convention is held on Saturday, September 20 at the DECC in Duluth, MN for dancers ages 7 & up for $150 per dancer. That day dancers attend 7 classes taught by Celebration Talent’s staff. Registration deadline is September 1. Parents are responsible for providing transportation to and from the convention. The convention will feature either two or three groups of dancers depending on the number of attendees - either 12 & under and 13 & over OR ages 7-10; 11-13 & 14 & up. Typically, the convention begins at 8 am and ends around 5:00 (a complete schedule is normally provided a couple days prior to the convention. Dancers should bring a bag lunch. As a parent, if you plan to stay and watch, they do charge observers a fee of $26.00 if you want stay in the ballroom to watch the dancers during the day.

2025-2026 Production Dance
A Production is a dance learned by a specific group of dancers of all ages from our studio. Dancers aged 5 and up are invited to participate in the Production Dance for the 2025-2026 Dance Season. This group will learn a dance to perform in our Spring Dance Recital. Class for the production dance will take place 1-2 times per month on Sunday mornings, starting in September. The participation fee is a one-time charge of $45 per dancer, in addition to the cost of the recital costume (exact cost to be determined).

To join the Production Dance, please sign up online before the first class, which is scheduled for Sunday, September 22. The exact class times for each group will be set once registration is complete and dancers have been assigned to a specific group.

Dancers, here’s your chance to have your mom, grandma, or aunt join you on stage at our Winter Showcase performance on Saturday, January 10 at Northwestern High School! All dancers registered for the 2025-2026 Dance Season are welcome to join in on the fun. This is a great opportunity for quality time together on stage. We will have class from 10:30 - 11:15 am one Sunday a month beginning in November. The cost to participate is $25.00, which covers all three practices. Dancers and their adult will need to practice at home between classes. We will provide a video to assist with your practice.
