Hip Hop (Ages 4-6)
Hip Hop is full of energy and fun music to dance to. This is a beginning hip hop class for our younger dancers. They will work on basic dance technique and group activities. Dancers will perform one dance in our Summer Dance Performance the beginning of August. Total class cost is $72; $36 due at time of registration and $36 due by 6/22. Additional costs include jazz shoes and a tshirt for the performance.

Dancers need to decide on the type of dance they want to do (lyrical, hip hop, tap, poms, etc) and then decide what instructor they want to help them choreography the dance.
Participating in a solo and or duet dance is a great and very rewarding experience! But it does involve extra costs and commitment from both the dancers and their parents. The $35 due at the time of sign up is for the music fee and administrative costs. Dancers meet with their instructor for 2-3 private lessons to learn and clean a dance; private lessons with instructors is $35/hr. Private lesson fees are due at the end of each lesson with your instructor.

Dancers meet with their instructor for 2-3 private lessons to learn and clean a dance; private lessons with instructors are $40 per hr or $20 for 30 minutes. Private lesson fees are due at the end of each lesson with your instructor.
Dancers are expected to practice their solo/duet dance each week at home. If a dancer hasn't been practicing, ASOD has the option to cut any solo/duet dancer from the performance.
Dancers signed up for the 2026-2027 Dance Season have the opportunity to do ONE extra dance (solo or duet). Company dancers will perform their solo/duet dance at the Spring Dance Recital in April while all other dancers will perform their solo/duet dances at the Winter Showcase Performance in January. Dancers need to decide on the type of dance they want to do (lyrical, hip hop, tap, poms, etc) and then decide what instructor they want to help them choreography the dance.
Participating in a solo and or duet dance is a great and very rewarding experience! But it does involve extra costs and commitment from both the dancers and their parents. The $35 due at the time of sign up is for the music fee and administrative costs. Contemporary is a combination of modern, ballet and jazz dance; this is an intermediate class that will build on technique already learned. We will focus on developing ballet and jazz technique, vocabulary, terminology, and stretching/strength training through floor exercises.
