Summer Ballet 2 introduces beginner to intermediate ballet dance steps, more challenging use of vertical alignment and dynamic stability, and increased vocabulary of positions of the body. Dancers will explore ballet technique's lines, shapes, and forms through their own bodies' internal senses of motion and individual skeletal structure. Dancers will continue to connect ballet technique steps to their historical and cultural origins.

Join Bluey and Bingo and dive into a world of imaginative play in this fun-filled camp! Campers will explore foundational dance concepts and steps, playful storytelling, and movement games designed just for them. (Keepy Uppy anyone?) A great place for preschoolers to build coordination, enhance their gross and fine motor abilities, and work on social skills with friends—all in a welcoming, nurturing environment. This magical introduction to dance ensures every little explorer feels safe to learn, grow, and have a blast. Daily crafts included, don't forget to bring your water bottle!

CAMP: Minecraft Dance Quest Camp (ages 7-11)
Combine the excitement of Minecraft with movement exploration in this fun camp! Dancers will explore many dance styles like Modern, Ballet, Tap, and creative Choreography. Working together in teams, participants will design and build intricate movement “structures,” gather resources, and learn to express themselves in dance tasks that mirror the cooperative spirit of the Minecraft universe.

Each day, campers expand their creative problem-solving skills, practice strategic thinking, and discover new ways to move and perform. Team up with your fellow adventurers to choreograph a dance for the end-of-week show! Each day includes a Minecraft craft. The final day of camp features an informal performance that family and friends are invited to see! By the end of camp, they’ll have built a strong foundation in both dance and collaboration, unlocking new levels of confidence in their artistry.

Don't forget to bring a peanut-free lunch and water bottle every day. No special shoes required.

This class will also emphasize musicality, rhythm, and syncopation and introduce elements of improvisation or free-style movements. A basic tap shoe is preferred for this class. Each week, students will work with professionals to learn the art of choreography, craft their own dances working together with peers, and then have opportunities to perform in the community. Through this process we encourage students to learn how to cooperate with friends and problem solve together.

What makes this so unique? YOUR DANCER WILL CREATE THE DANCE! Students won't learn a dance choreographed by the instructor. With age appropriate guidance, they will be the choreographers and the performers. They will learn from professionals in the field about costuming, lighting design, set design, and more. It's an incredible experience!

Students choosing to participate in the Kids ChoreoLab Performing Ensemble (ages 10-14) are required to take at least one Modern Dance class each week.
