VITALITY PUNCH CARDS ACCEPTED

EDC’s Barre class is a low-impact, high-energy fitness class to help you get your morning started and your fitness goals achieved. This workout is a fun fusion between traditional ballet movements and strength training with high repetition of small movements and stretching. The class is built to make sure no muscle group goes untouched. Modifications will be provided, so any level is welcome!

Class Format:
- Light warmup to get the body moving!
- Get the arms pumping!
- Head to the barre to work the glutes, hamstrings, and abductors/adductors with isometric movements and stretching.
- Down to the floor for some core!
- Time to cool down.

Attire:
Anything you can comfortably move in! Barefoot or lightweight tennis shoes.

Optional Equipment:
- 2lbs/3lbs hand weights
- resistance loop bands

In Creative Movement, the dance classroom environment is first introduced to our tiniest students! Students learn to take basic direction from an instructor, gain body awareness, and begin to understand group work - like moving consecutively in a circle, or working with partners. Musicality and rhythm are introduced through clapping, singing, and improvising to music. Props are introduced to help students respond to music. Basic movement themes such as jumping, ballet walks, skipping, spinning, and more help build their dance foundation.

EDC follows a closed-practice policy for all classes. Parents/guardians may observe during observation week the first full week of each month, the last 5-10 minutes of class.

A form of dance characterized by a tapping sound that is created from metal plates attached to both the ball and heel of the dancer's shoe. These metal plates, when tapped against a suitable surface, create a percussive sound and as such tap dance is both a form of dance as well as the act of playing a musical instrument. Tap is strongly encouraged for all dance students, as it teaches and encourages the understanding of musicality.

Injury Prevention For Dancers - Specialty Pop Up

Taught by Jen Hart, PTA, this hands-on class focuses on keeping dancers strong, safe, and injury-free. Dancers/guardians will learn practical techniques to prevent common dance injuries, improve body awareness, and build healthy habits. The class also covers how to properly care for minor injuries when they occur, helping dancers recover smarter and get back to doing what they love.

Recommended for dancers and parents/guardians of all ages.

Join EDC alumna and makeup artist Khloe Murrell for this hands-on class designed to help dancers/guardians master the essentials of stage makeup. learn how to create a flawless base that holds up under stage lights, along with two distinct eye looks—one required look for the 2026 competition team and one additional look perfect for various performances. Receive tips, techniques, and product recommendations to ensure dancers feel confident and stage-ready.

Recommended for dancers and parents/guardians of all ages.

Participants will be required to provide some of their own makeup items for hands-on class work. Some products will be provided. List will be sent to all enrolled 2 weeks prior to class date.

Nutrition For Dancers - Specialty Pop Up
Taught by ISSA-certified nutritionist Kira Metzger, this class explores the essential role of nutrition in supporting a dancer’s performance, recovery, and overall well-being. Designed specifically for dancers as high-performing athletes, the class will cover key topics such as energy balance, nutrient needs, hydration, and the timing of meals around training and performance. Students will learn how to fuel their bodies effectively to enhance endurance, prevent injury, and support long-term health both in and out of the studio.

Recommended for dancers ages 10 and up or parents/guardians with dancers ages 10 and up.

These specialty pop-up classes, led by industry professionals, are open to all dancers and their families—whether you're a student at EDC or from the surrounding community. Stage Hair For Dancers - Specialty Pop Up
Taught by licensed cosmetologist and dance instructor Kennedy Thompson, this hands-on class will teach dancers/guardians how to confidently create two polished, stage-ready hairstyles. one required look for the 2026 competition team, plus one additional versatile style perfect for performances. Students will be lead step-by-step through techniques, tips, and tricks to ensure every dancer hits the stage looking their best.
