This style of dance is a fluid combination of ballet and jazz technique moving lyrically to music with heart and feeling. It is more expressive in nature, relating to the spirit, nature, joy and freedom of the individual dancer. Lyrical & contemporary dance uses movement to interpret the music and expresses emotion. Attire: bare feet, jazz shoes, pirouettes, solid color leotard and tights. Boy shorts and close-fitting tops are acceptable.
