Ballet Level 1a is a technique level for classical ballet training.
It is the most important discipline of all dance forms to establish a proficient dancer. This ballet level is all about setting the proper foundation that set your dancer up for success! Class time is spent focusing on proper placement, body alignment, safely working in a turned out position, ballet vocabulary, and class etiquette. Exercises are performed at a moderate tempo to ensure the dancer is using the correct muscles for each movement. Muscle memory is developed through lots and lots of repetition. It may look simple from the lobby, but even standing still requires a dancer to think of 8-10 things at a time.
Students are highly encouraged to study it first or along with other dance forms.
