Community Yoga
Open Level: Accessible, neuro-inclusive, and trauma-informed mindful movement, meditation and breathwork for practitioners of all stages.
Personal Equipment: Please bring your own yoga mat, towel, water bottle, and any props you may need (e.g., blocks, straps, blankets). These items are not provided by the studio or instructor.
Injuries: It is your responsibility to listen to your body and skip any poses that don't feel right. Please inform the instructor of any injuries or concerns before class begins. Modifications are always available!
Consent and Touch: Hands-on adjustments can be a valuable tool in yoga, but they are always optional. The instructor may offer adjustments to deepen your practice or provide support. However, this inherently involves an exchange of power dynamics, and your comfort and safety are paramount. Therefore...
1) Initial Consent: Before any hands-on adjustments are offered, the instructor will explain the type of touch being offered and its purpose. You have the absolute right to decline any and all physical contact, even if you have consented in the past.
2) Ongoing Consent: Your consent can be withdrawn at any time during an adjustment. If you are uncomfortable for any reason, please verbally communicate this to the instructor or physically move away.
3) Tools and Options: The instructor may use props or verbal cues as alternatives to hands-on adjustments. Please let the instructor know if you prefer these options. If you have any questions or concerns about touch in this class, please discuss them with the instructor privately.
