Students are expected to be able to execute the following tricks upon enrolment in this class; front, back and Valdez walkovers, confident or be working on being confident in handsprings and aerials, able to move and work through a handstand confidently and a strong foundation of stregnth. Students will continue to work on progressions from these skills as well as continuing to build body strength and endurance.
PLEASE NOTE: A LEVEL APPROPIATE FLEX TECH IS A CO-REQUISITE FOR THIS CLASS.

As a teacher, Aglaia is here to facilitate independent musicianship and consistent progress, as these are great indicators of whether students play for a year or a lifetime. Thus, this curriculum is more of a loose overview of what, in my years of experience, is generally achieved or is considered a goal at each “level” of proficiency rather than a one-to-one guide of how a student must develop in every case. The student is not expected to progress through these sections in a linear progression; jumping from section to section is encouraged! Some section examples are: learning musical terms and concepts (eg, tempo, chords, harmony, melody, treble, bass, bars, time signatures, etc.), basic musical structures, building musical vocabulary, understanding, and proficiency, alongside active listening/ ear training, and music composition.

This fun, engaging, and peer-mixed class for students ages 5-8 will cover various dance genres and drama games in 10-week modules. Students will try all styles, from ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, lyrical, and musical theatre. This is currently set as an in-studio-performing/ non-costumed class.
