Acro dance features all the elements of regular tumbling class: cardio, strength, flexibility, limbering, balancing, and tumbling- but also incorporates graded levels, so it's very easy to see what level a student is working towards, and what their next skill progression may be.
Acro Dance is intended to be incorporated into dance performances, so we do require all our acro students to take a dance class for musicality, vocabulary, and technique building. We highly encourage jazz or ballet as their dance form, but tap and hip hop also are great.
In contrast, our tumbling classes don't perform, and they don't work on transitions and progressions connecting skills together into routines.
All acro students are required to demonstrate proficiency in skills required at each level before moving up, and placement classes are required for all acro classes at the start of the year.
