Intro/Beginner 1 Gym Monday
To be in this class: Students must be able to perform all basic skills and do a backbend from a standing position.
In this class students are introduced more thoroughly to the basics of gymnastics and are able to get a basic foundation that will enable them to progress through more classes. In addition to the basics, students will learn how to properly kick-over and stand up from a bridge position. With these skills learned, they will be prepared to safely learn a back walkover and front limber. To be in this class, students must be able to do a backbend (from a standing position bending backwards and landing softly in a bridge) and be at least 4.5 years of age.

This class continues the tumbling progression that follows the backbend. Students will be working on being able to kick over and stand up from a bridge position. Students in this class must be able to do a backbend and all the basic skills (cartwheel, forward and backward roll).

This class takes students with the ability to do several back handsprings and one front handspring. The focus of this class is on making the back handspring more quick and powerful in preparation for their back tuck. Students will also start working on performing multiple front handsprings. A focus on strength, flexibility and control is added to all the basic skills and students start working on combining skills and making them flow.

In this class the front tuck and round off back handspring back tuck is introduced and performed on the floor. More advanced skills are taught along with acrobatic skills and progressing combinations that produce more powerful tumbling. Drills and skills that prepare gymnasts for their back layout and front layout are implemented and a focus on strength/flexibility/control is included at a higher level. Students must get permission from coach Dave to take this class.
