Instructor approval is required to start wearing pointe shoes. Evaluation for all pointe classes is required. Dancers will learn exercises that will strengthen their feet and get them ready to start pointe. Dancers who are already on pointe will participate in these same strengthening exercises, plus execute some basic pointe work. All dancers will learn how to articulate through pointe shoes, get over their box, and other pointe fundamentals to keep them safe on pointe. This class will NOT perform in either the winter showcase or spring production.
