Ballet Adv Technique Class (must take Ballet V or VI class eval req'd)
This is a technique only class for those who have done pointe for 2+ years or have the strength required to advance. MUST HAVE EVALUATION TO REGISTER. The highest level of ballet currently offered at our studio. This is a more involved class for students with secure technique and the capacity to keep up in a fast-paced environment. Dancers learn advanced ballet combinations and skills, as well as classical variations and ballet history. No Recital. *Must have evaluation in order to enroll in this class.

Tap I (Beginning 5-10yrs)
This class is designed for those with none to little experience of tap dance. Tap classes focus on rhythm, musicality and timing. All classes begin with an energetic warm-up, across the floor exercises and combinations. Our more beginner students explore the fundamental steps of tap dance, learn tap terminology and develop the ability to maintain correct body placement, as well as the ear, or ability to understand music. A small portion of the course will be dedicated to learning about and honoring historical tap figures to gain a holistic understanding of the art form.

Tap III (Beg/Inter 7-12yrs)
This beginning/intermediate tap class is designed for those who have already taken our Tap I and/or Tap II classes. Our Tap III class increases the focus on rhythm, musicality and timing. All classes begin with an energetic warm-up, across the floor exercises and combinations. Our beginner/intermediate students explore the fundamental steps of tap while incorporating more advanced skills and combinations.

Beats Hip Hop (Inter/Adv 10yrs+)
Hip-Hop dance is a social style of dance that incorporates jazz and funk. This athletic dance style uses isolation’s of the body and includes popping, locking, and breaking. Hip-hop is ever changing and evolving with cutting edge choreography seen in music videos and television commercials. This high-energy style is for every age and every level.

Ballet/Jazz Pre-School Combo (3-4yrs)
A pre-school combo ballet/jazz dance class geared towards our tiniest dancers (ages 3-4 yrs). Combination classes are a great way for students to experience different types of dance genres with the main focus on having fun and enjoying dance! Each week dancers will experience a "themed" creative dance experience. Pair this combo class with one of our monthly themed lesson plans and you've just cooked up a recipe for fun! This class is a wonderful introduction to a social classroom situation for both boys and girls and focuses on basic ballet and jazz dance skills to develop strength, coordination, balance, musicality, timing, and flexibility in an active environment.

Ballet III (7-12yrs)
A class for students who have completed ballet I or II, and are more comfortable with the elementary positions of classical ballet and can move easily through the barre and center floor work. Our ballet technique classes are the foundation for training in all dance genres and focus on developing a solid ballet technique with emphasis on understanding correct body placement, proper use of turn out, coordination of the upper body (epaulement), and use of arms (port de bras). Clear explanations of exercises and theory help students increases their use of the ballet vocabulary in a simple, practical way that leads to increased technical understanding, healthy physical development, and lifelong enjoyment.

Acro/Tumble: Level I/II A
Our specially designed acro/tumbling curriculum is used to provide a safe and progressive approach to learning, that gives your child many opportunities to succeed and be praised. Level I/II Acro/Tumbling is for students 7 years and older. In this class, core skills will be deconstructed into fundamental steps, which allows for successful and correct progressive learning. Acro/Tumbling is an important foundation for our Competition Dance Teams, as well as school cheerleading, drill teams & dance companies.

Shorties Hip Hop (5-6yrs)
For beginning dancers: Hip Hop incorporates a variety of old and new urban, street and pop dance styles. The dancing represents body movements that go with the beat and rhythm of hip hop music. Hip hop dancing is very dynamic and helps the dancers improve flexibility develop body balance, and coordination. This class serves as an introduction to hip hop dance for the younger student. This class will encourage students to dance outside of the box and bring their own personality to each movement.

Acro/Tumble: Primary Beginning (3-6yrs)
Our specially designed Acro/Tumble primary curriculum is used to provide a safe and progressive approach to learning, that gives your child many opportunities to succeed and be praised. Acro/Tumble primary is an age based class providing tremendous developmental benefits for children ages 3-6 yrs. In this class your tumbler will learn hand-eye coordination (important for writing), eye-tracking (needed for reading readiness), locomotor movement skills (challenging the dancer's growing mind and body) and social skills (learning to work with others, sharing and taking turns). All of which make a significant impact on learning and maturity.

Ballet IV (evaluation required)
EVALUATION REQUIRED. A more involved ballet class for students who have shown increased knowledge of classical ballet terms and technique. This class will take the technique previously learned and build upon them to strengthen the dancer's precision and ability. Students will advance on to more difficult skills and utilize both barre and centre floor work to improve their technique. Students with strong ballet technique, sufficient core and ankle strength, and a teacher's recommendation go on to study 'en pointe' (Pointe Shoes).

In this class, tumblers will begin to learn the basic movement for more advanced acro/tumbling such as back handsprings and aerials. Acro/Tumbling is an important foundation for our Competition Dance Teams, as well as school cheerleading, drill teams & dance companies.

Our beg/beginning+ level ballet classes are for those dancers who are either new to ballet or moving up from "combo" level classes. Dancers begin to move through the rudimentary structure of a standard ballet class, including barre and center practice, while greatly expanding their knowledge of movement and terminology. The goal for this class is to solidify basic ballet terminology and movement, as well as developing a greater awareness of technical ballet concepts.

Jazz dance is an exploration of style and presentation. This is a beginner-friendly jazz dance class for ages 6-8 yrs. Dancers will learn the beginning steps of jazz and work on picking up choreography sequences that fuse together style and technique. Classes emphasize musicality and body alignment, conditioning, stretch and strengthening, rhythm and stylization as well as fun and innovative choreography.

Strength & Conditioning (8yrs+)
Strength and conditioning exercises take joints through their full range of motion and promote mobility and flexibility. These are especially important for dancers who need to incorporate fluid movements in their routines, stretches, and mountain climbers emphasize muscle lengthening and improve hamstring flexibility. (SC) training is a common way to improve a dancer's physical fitness and athletic abilities. It can help prevent injuries, improve performance, and enhance aesthetic competence during performances.

Contemporary I (7-10yrs)
Contemporary combines ballet and modern techniques with musical and emotional expression with a strong focus on modern techniques (contractions and release, off-center balances and suspension) as well as musicality and self-expression. Contemporary dance appeals to the creative, artistic soul in everyone because of its expressiveness and freedom of individuality. This beginning level class will work on and build the students ability to pick up stylized choreography and movements. Students will focus on movements from the inside out, encouraging use of breath, energy, and connection in a quicker paced class environment.

Musical Theatre
Step into the spotlight with this lively and expressive class that combines dance, acting, and storytelling. Musical Theatre Dance focuses on the styles and choreography seen on Broadway, teaching students how to connect movement with character, emotion, and narrative.
Dancers will learn choreography inspired by classic and contemporary musicals while developing stage presence, facial expression, and theatricality. Each class includes a warm-up, across-the-floor technique, and character-driven combos that emphasize musicality and performance.
Perfect for dancers, singers, and actors alike, this class encourages bold choices, clear storytelling, and ensemble awareness. Open to all levels (or adjust level as needed); no singing required, but performance is key!

Dancers will work on increased difficulty in rhythm, speed, execution and style.

Combination classes are a great way for students to experience different types of activity with the main focus on having fun and enjoying dance. Our combo classes focuses on two important styles of dance for our younger dancers, tap and ballet. Classes are structured in different segments of tap and ballet skills depending upon age and specified class time. Students will explore musicality, movement, and creativity while instilling a love for dance through basic elementary tap and ballet terminology.
