Legally Blonde JR
Harvard’s beloved blonde takes the stage by glittery pink storm in this fun and upbeat adaptation of the hit film and award-winning Broadway musical.

This program is open to performers between the ages of 12 and 17 interested in a fast-paced rehearsal process aimed to develop and grow skills of artistic expression, self-confidence, and collaborative teamwork in theatre arts.

NOTE: While this version of Legally Blonde has been adapted from the full-length Broadway musical for younger performers, the story of Legally Blonde still involves some more mature themes and musical numbers. Rehearsals
Rehearsals will take place Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00pm – 7:00pm.
Most rehearsals will be at the Academy of Music Theatre in Northampton, though some may be held at another nearby location. Specific dates will be shared in advance via email; please be sure to check your email frequently for these communications.
A detailed rehearsal calendar will be shared after auditions based on the conflicts you have shared prior to rehearsals starting. (Conflict calendar is part of the Parent/Student Forms Packet).
Not everyone will be needed and called to all rehearsals. There is a weekly email with the specific schedule and other updates.
Everyone who registers must be able to attend at least the majority of all rehearsals, and must be available for all rehearsals the last three weeks of the program (May 12 – 29, 2026).
Missing rehearsals may result in not being in certain songs and scenes or having certain parts reassigned. We want everyone to have as much stage time as possible, but rehearsal time is very limited and there may not be enough time in the process to re-teach material that is missed. Thank you for understanding.

Seeking lovers of Pop and Musical Theatre! In this 1 week workshop we will take favorite Top 40 radio hits and perform them with a Musical Theatre flair.

The similarities in pop concert performance and contemporary musical theatre are blending more and more, and in this workshop we will explore, celebrate, and play where these styles of performance art meet.

Each day will be filled with learning vocals and choreography for contemporary pop songs remixed and staged for performance in contemporary musical theatre. We’ll create our own showcase to be performed on Friday at the end of the week while building self-confidence on stage, digging into acting while singing/dancing, and expressing yourself through performance.

This workshop is a full-day program, 9am – 3pm. We will have a lunch break outside at Polaski Park (weather and crowds permitting). Participants bring a cold lunch from home. Food is NOT provided by the Academy of Music.
