Join the Big Little Chorus for its Spring Theme: “Once Upon A Song”
The Big Little Chorus, directed by Lauren Fleit since 2019, has moved to The Academy of Music and is dedicated to inspiring a lifelong love of music in young singers. We provide a supportive and joyful environment where children can discover their voices, grow in confidence, and experience the power of singing together. Through rehearsals, performances, and community engagement, we nurture creativity, teamwork, and self-expression, fostering not only strong musicians but also compassionate, confident individuals.
Each week, members of The Big Little Chorus take part in fun, engaging activities that help them grow as singer, performers, and teammates. Our rehearsals are designed to build confidence, skill, and a love of music.
We focus on learning new music:
The singers are introduced to new and old songs and guided through the process of learning melody, rhythm, and lyrics.
We practice stage presence:
Performers learn how to connect with an audience- through posture, expression, and movement. We practice confidence on stage so each singer feels comfortable sharing their voice.
We develop vocal control:
Each week includes vocal warm-ups and exercises that build healthy singing habits. We work on breathing, diction, dynamics and blending their voices together for a polished group sound.
We work together:
Chorus is all about teamwork! Through all of these practices we learn how to listen, support one another and celebrate what we can achieve as a group.
By the end of each season, our singers not only gain stronger musical skills, but also grow in confidence, collaboration, and creativity- ready to shine in performance.
Refund Protocol: The $15 registration fee in addition to 50% of tuition is considered a deposit to claim your spot and is non-refundable.

Tuition: $15 + $15 Registration Fee ($30 Total)
Saturdays 10am – 11:30am
March 28 – May 31, 2026
Performance Sunday, May 31, 2026
Instructed by Sarah Marcus
Rehearsals will take place at the Academy of Music Theatre, and occasionally at another nearby location (TBA).
The Brave Space Project is a unique opportunity for queer teens to create an original ensemble theater project, and is a collaboration between the Academy of Music Theatre and Play Incubation Collective.
Inspired by their own stories, interests, and imaginations, teens will explore improvisation, writing exercises, movement, poetry, and more in order to build a cohesive ensemble performance piece to be shared at the end of the program. Emphasis will be on collaboration and building performance skills.
No previous experience necessary, just a willingness to be part of a creative ensemble.
This program will be an opportunity for local queer youth to amplify their individual and collective voices and share their own stories. Unlike more traditional youth theater experiences where the material is written by adults, the Brave Space Project empowers and centers the participants as makers. The ensemble will work together to create and perform their own original theater piece that speaks directly to the community, exploring the themes that are most important to them.
This program aims for participants to:
Collectively create a piece of devised and improvised theater, from inception to performance, based on their own stories and experiences instead of using a pre-existing script or being confined to expectations from previous productions (theater by the youth, not just for the youth).
See themselves as “makers” of art and as storytellers.
Gain collaboration, improvisation, and performance skills.
Foster a strong sense of community and build a network of peer support amongst queer teens.
Experience a supportive and uplifting in-person creative outlet for queer teens.
Refund Protocol: The $15 registration fee in addition to 50% of tuition is considered a deposit to claim your spot and is non-refundable.
No refunds will be given after March 14, 2026.
