This is an information meeting for any dancer and parent(s) that are interested in the EAD Company for the 2026-2027 season. The meeting will be held on Zoom. The link will be sent to all registered students/families.
We are very excited about our plan for the upcoming season and can't wait to share it with you all! We will be going over the vision of the EAD Company, requirements, and expectations of dancers and families.

Modern/Contemporary I/II

Modern dance retains some ballet technique, expanding upon it and freeing it to encompass the exciting world of total body involvement and creative expression.
*Students must be enrolled in and attending consistently Ballet and/or Jazz at their level at Encore Academy of Dance.
Modern VI/VII is open to all students in ninth grade and older. Teacher recommendation and certain skills must be accomplished before moving to Modern VIII. It is very common for dancers to spend more than one year in each level.

Bahama Christmas Parade 2026

Encore Academy of Dance participates yearly in the best parade around!
Our youngest dancers will ride on the float, while our leveled dancers walk and dance their way down the parade route. Every dancer is asked to bring at least one bag of candy (no suckers/lollipops) to be dropped off at Encore Academy of Dance by Monday, November 30, 2026.
ALL CHAPERONES must fill out the following form: https://forms.gle/SP7jdDJ8JCvp4uEt7
Chaperones will need a parade sweatshirt. Please order your sweatshirt through Dawn at the front desk. Please wear black pants or leggings with your Parade Sweatshirt 2025, and tennis shoes. Sweatshirts MUST be ordered by Wednesday, November 10, 2026.
All parade participants must be seated on the float by 9:00 a.m. on parade day. NO VEHICLES WILL BE ALLOWED TO DROP OFF STUDENTS AFTER 8:45 AM.
Everyone is treated to donuts and hot chocolate after the parade at the Bahama Ruritan Club.

This is an optional free performance opportunity for all dancers from Dance with Me up. Dancers will perform in their regular dress code attire.

Classes are held on Saturday and scholarship auditions are held on Sunday.

The UNC School of the Arts Festival of Dance is open to any ballet student aged 11+. Dancers enjoy 3 days of classes in ballet, jazz, modern/contemporary, African, and more from UNCSA faculty and alumni. All students are eligible to audition for the UNCSA Summer Intensives while attending the Festival.
This is an amazing opportunity and one of our favorite weekends of the season. It is highly recommended that your dancer attend.
Fees will be available as they are received by Encore.
