Students should be able to be stable on one leg, extend through a straight leg, know how to spot, begin to utilize their arms in support of movement, point their toes through the foot and leg, are aware of appropriate alignment and turnout. Students should be able to execute a pirouette and leap, we will work on perfecting these two keystones of ballet at the intermediate level, but basic proper execution is required prior to admittance into this level. At MNDA, Intermediate levels take a while to transition into and even if you are an intermediate level in knowledge of steps, your execution may need a little more time to develop and we will recommend this class for that purpose. Our goal is to create the proper alignment, use of muscles, and strength to set all of our dancers up for success and to be able to one day dance en pointe if they so desire.
