Working with students from Conundrum (critically acclaimed Malaysian youth theatre) and with the writing guidance of award wiring Scottish writer, Stef Smith. During the week the students will create a play from nothing. Stef Smith will be tutoring 2 student writers throughout the process and the goal for the end of the week is to have a 20min play that will be developed over the year and performed in Fringe 2025. The leaders will be Claire Glenn (Artistic director of Conundrum Youth Theatre) and Shauna Macdonald (Artistic director of Edinburgh Youth Theatre).

These are scenes from a near-future Britain, a country in crisis, with national service reinstated for all young people. The old world is dying, and the new world has been delayed indefinitely. The Dark Up Close is a new play by Jack MacGregor, commissioned for Strange Town Young Company (18-25).

A unique Saturday fun class! Students will learn lots of high energy drama games and also begin to learn the rules of stagecraft, devise and create short scenes and stories of their own. They also work on other theatre skills such as improvisation and developing characters, with a short show for parents at least once per year.
1.5 hours per week for 41 weeks a year - £46.13 per month over 12 months

This session term is for students who want to advance their acting skills. Led by artistic director Shauna Macdonald, the students will work on contemporary and classical texts. This term will culminate in a showcase for invited guests.
There will be a theatre trip on May 13th (this is covered by the cost)
