CLASS REQUIREMENTS:
All festival Lyrical, & Modern students ages 10 & up are required to take a ballet class.
All festival Acro, Jazz, Lyrical and Modern students ages 5 & up are required to take a Flexibility, Technique and Conditioning class.

For festival acro, ballet, hip hop, jazz, lyrical, modern and tap please register in the desired dance style. Students will be placed in the appropriate grade level prior to classes starting and a class confirmation email will be sent to all families.

The acrobatics arts program is designed to promote excellence in tumbling, flexibility, strength, balance, contortion and partner/group stunting for dancers. Acro is a genre of dance which fuses elements of gymnastics tricks, balancing, tumbling and jazz. Students learn tricks such as handstands, cartwheels, chest stands, walkovers and more! This class will participate in 3 festivals and our year end recital.

Ballet
Ballet is the foundation of all dance styles and is recommended for all dancers. Ballet classes will utilize classical technique and free movement; the structure and discipline in these classes allows students to develop in areas that are necessary for all dance forms. Students are educated throughout their lessons as to muscle strength, grace, posture, expression and the beauty of the art of dance. All Ballet classes will be following the Royal Academy of Ballet Syllabus. All ballet classes will participate in 3 festivals this season.

Flexbility, Strength & Conditioning Class (Stretch Class)
* This class is required for all festival acro, jazz, lyrical and modern classes.
This class is a combination of deep stretching and body conditioning. The class is heavy in cardio to increase endurance for the dancer. The class includes several arms, abdominal, and leg exercises to strengthen the entire body. Strong muscles are vital for protecting the body and of course improving dance skills! Healthy muscles are important to let you move freely and keep your body strong. This class will include the Alixa Flexibility, PBT and The Rosina Andrews Method syllabus

Hip Hop
A funky dance class filled with the latest popular dance steps and music. Students will get a taste of several styles and be able to use basic steps to create explosive Hip Hop moves and find their own unique style as a Hip Hop dancer. All these elements make the dance exciting, energetic and inspiring. All hip hop classes will participate in 3 festival this season.

Jazz dance incorporates stylized dance moves and dynamic steps such as jumps, turns, and kicks. Jazz is a very high-energy class that teaches students essential dance skills including body coordination, flexibility and self-expression. Jazz classes will be following the ADAPT syllabus this year and may have the opportunity to participate in dance exams. All jazz classes will participate in 3 festivals this season.

Lyrical combines the best of Ballet with Jazz and a dash of modern. It is one of the most expressive forms of dance. It requires excellent technique to perform, as the moves are often difficult and precise. The goal is to help dancers learn to convey the emotions of a song by making them aware of their facial expressions, and body movements. All lyrical classes will participate in 3 festivals this season.

Modern dance is a highly expressive style of dance that challenges the structured dance technique of classical ballet. The focus of modern dance is expression, rather than following a rigid set of postures or technical positions that ballet dancers are trained in. Modern dance movements are considered freeform and fluid, and are often inspired by other dance styles like African dance, ballet, and folk dance. This class will participate in 3 festivals and our year end recital this season.

Tap
Tap dancing is an energetic dance style where students learn rhythm, style and technique through percussive footwork. Tap develops strong co-ordination and a sense of timing and musicality. Tap classes will be following Al Gilbert and ADAPT syllabus this year and may have the opportunity to participate in dance exams. All tap classes will participate in 3 festivals this season.

Musical Theatre
No previous experience required! Musical Theatre is a form of theatrical performance that combines singing, acting, and dancing, to build triple threat- dancers. Students ages 5 and up will work together to prepare a routine. This class will participate in 3 festivals and our year end recital.

Preschool Tumble Tots Acro
Tumble Tots Preschool Acro is a fun and interactive program that covers the basic fundamental skills that children need to grow and develop, such as gross motor skills, hand, eye, foot coordination, visual tracking, balance and fine motor skills. This class is a fun introduction to acrobatics, tumbling, balance and strength! Tumble Tots will participate in our year end recital.

Preschool Ballet
Preschool Ballet teaches dancers the basic concepts of Ballet. Students are introduced to the positions of feet and arms while touching on basic Ballet vocabulary. The instructor will introduce basic level combinations and exercises, while using simple props to promote creativity and artistic expression. Students will have the opportunity to perform in our Year - End Recital.
