Rooted in classical ballet vocabulary with a strong emphasis on torso articulation and expression, the contemporary technique classes encourage alignment, form, coordination, musicality, strength, rhythm and kinetic intelligence. This work also acts as an essential warm-up for the company rehearsal and is accompanied by live percussion. This class is mandatory for all Company members.
Rooted in classical ballet vocabulary with a strong emphasis on torso articulation and expression, the contemporary technique classes encourage alignment, form, coordination, musicality, strength, rhythm and kinetic intelligence. Hip Hop CREW, 2025-2026
The Hip Hop CREW is for dancers who want more opportunity to perform within the community. Dancers will perform 3 -4 times throughout the year including within the Spring Show in May and select GYD Company shows. Dancers performing in the Hip Hop CREW must take the Hip Hop training class in addition to this class which will focus on learning hip hop choreography.
Not mandatory, but highly recommended is Jazz in order to increase technical skills that will be used in the choreographies.
If interested in participating in the Hip Hop CREW dancers must attend the audition and be selected to participate prior to registering. A non-refundable Crew fee of $150 is in addition to your tuition fee.
