Rock Academy Beginner Program
River Raisin Rock Academy – Beginner Program
Ready to rock? The River Raisin Rock Academy Beginner Program is the perfect introduction to playing in a band. Students will learn the fundamentals of their instrument while exploring and performing multiple rock songs in a fun, supportive group setting. Along the way, they'll build musicianship, confidence, and teamwork skills before taking the stage for a live performance at the River Raisin Centre for the Arts to showcase everything they've learned.

Take your playing to the next level with the River Raisin Rock Academy Intermediate/Advanced Program. Designed for experienced musicians, students will refine their technique, strengthen their stage presence, and collaborate with fellow performers while learning and performing multiple rock songs. Participants will develop advanced ensemble, improvisation, and performance skills in a dynamic band setting, culminating in a live concert at the River Raisin Centre for the Arts where they can showcase their talent on stage.

Monroe's School of Performing Arts Junior (SoPA Jr) is a 6-class program where students ages 7-11 can develop basic beginning theatre skills. Some of the skills worked on include, but are not limited to stage directions, pantomime, how to read a script, projection, vocal warmups, props, and basic character work. The class culminates in a demonstration of theatre games performed by the students. This performance will be included with our original SoPA performances on November 14th and 15th, 2026. The SoPA Jr demonstration will take place during the intermission of the older students' show and will run approximately 15 minutes. There will be no class on October 24th, but the students will be included in the downtown Trick or Treat station at the RRCA. Opportunities available for students wishing to learn the behind-the-scenes aspects of theatre production as well. Email lewandowski@riverraisincentre.org for more information.
