Michaela Steed
Michaela & Michael Steed will lead this class, with guest teachers joining in to offer additional insight. "Dance Lab" will be an exciting exploration of composition and choreography! Highly recommended for high school company dancers, dance teachers, adults interested in choreographing for Move the Butte, and anyone else who wants to delve deeper into the creative art form of dance! The class will focus on how to create dances, invent movement, structure dance phrases, and understand choreographic principles. Students will develop their choreographic voice through improvisation, movement studies, and analysis of both their own work and the work of others. The class explores different choreographic structures and devices, as well as the relationship between movement, music, and other performance elements. Punchcards may be used (two punches per class). Special 20% off full registration until June 16!

Adult Ecstatic Dance (Dates: 6/19, 7/3, 7/17, 8/7)
Hadley Gallen
This a donation-based offering (suggested donation: $5). Ecstatic Dance is a freeform movement journey, held in a safe and sacred container and facilitated by community members. It’s a place where we can be our unique selves, and also connected to a common source. Ecstatic Dance has 3 Simple Guidelines: 1. We Dance Without Shoes (or: We Dance Barefoot) - This allows us to connect more fully with the Ground (socks are OK). If you have a physical condition that you need dance shoes, then OK. 2. We Dance Without Words (or: We Dance with Body Language) - This makes it easier to be in a Meditative State. No Verbal Instruction from the Facilitators. No Talking from the Dancers. 3. We Dance as We Are - No Drugs/Alcohol, No Phones, No Camera/Video, No Scents, No Expectations, No Judgements, No Shoulds, No Oughts… Just Be Yourself; With Respect for Ourselves, the Space, and One Another.
