All Grade 8-12 DCB Company Dancers are invited to join this competition dance! Participants will learn a Hip Hop dance and get to perform it in at least two competitions and the SOD spring shows. If you choose to be in this dance, you must also register for Grade 8-12 Hip Hop (Tuesdays 5:15-6:15pm) in the 2026 Fall Session. We also strongly recommend that you take Hip Hop classes in the 2027 Winter/Spring Session. 9 hours of cleaning time has been built into the Grade 8-12 Hip Hop Comp Dance Setting and Cleaning Fee. Any unused cleaning time from the Fall Session will be scheduled for January-March 2027. We hope to move this to an earlier time after soccer season!

Each 90-minute class includes: Brief opening circle with connection and community building; A slow, juicy warmup to build strength, cardio and sensuality; Basic pole conditioning and technique (and learn some sexy tricks!); Free dance sharing; Cool down and celebration. No prior experience necessary. Everything is optional, and exploration is encouraged! Come with an open mind, water bottle, yoga mat and anything you want to play with (clothes, shoes, music, etc). Description: Rehearsals for this piece will be held at TAYLOR HALL at WESTERN! This piece explores feminine rage, women's fight for autonomy, and the strength found in standing together. Kristin is envisioning a powerful, raw, and slightly provocative performance featuring a large group of women moving in unison. The choreography will focus on strong, repetitive movements and formations, making it accessible to dancers of all experience levels, with some more challenging sections for intermediate dancers. More than anything, Kristin wants this piece to showcase the power of women coming together, supporting one another, and reclaiming our voices and freedom.
Song: Labour by Paris Paloma
Costume: Costumes will be simple and accessible, with half of the dancers wearing black and half wearing white. Kristin would like everyone to be fully covered, but dancers will be encouraged to choose pieces that feel dancy, flowy, and powerful while still allowing plenty of movement (approx. $0-$30).

This cosmic warrior style piece will be divided in small groups for each flow toy to be showcased and then come together as a whole group to celebrate in the end. The goal is to have big swirling formations on stage to guide us through this collaborative LED journey together!
