This class will build on the skills from our intermediate acro class and involve the techniques needed for aerials and back handsprings.
Students must be able to complete the following skills without spot: cartwheel, one-handed cartwheel, roundoff, backbend, backbend-kickover, back Arabian limber, handstand shoulder shrugs, front walkover, hold handstand on the wall/plank for 1 minute.

In this class students will deepen their connection with theater and dance. They will explore storytelling through dance, different styles of theatrical dance including basic tap skills, and the art of improvisation. The class is for the student who wishes to hone and enhance their performance skills from auditions to performances.
Students will ultimately take an improvisational skit and work together to turn it into a production to be performed during the Showcase at the end of the year. This will include playwriting, auditions, casting, directing, props, sets, costumes and the performance. Students will also perform a musical number in the recital.

They will explore storytelling through dance, different styles of theatrical dance including basic tap skills, and the art of improvisation. The class is for the student who wishes to hone and enhance their performance skills from auditions to performances.
Students will ultimately take an improvisational skit and work together to turn it into a production to be performed during the Showcase at the end of the year. This will include playwriting, auditions, casting, directing, props, sets, costumes and the performance. Students will also perform a musical number in the recital.

This is open to all TDL students ages 4+ and their parents/siblings/children (for our adult students).
Rehearsal will take place at THE DANCE LAB on Saturday, 10/3 from 1230-115pm. You will learn a short (about a minute), easy dance to Thriller by Michael Jackson! We will get some videos so you can continue to practice at home.
We will then put our flash mob into action on SATURDAY, 10/24 at The Saratoga Springs Downtown Business Association's Fall Fest on Caroline Street (between Broadway and Putnam St) at 240pm.
Nothing will be required costume-wise. We'd love to see some Halloween costumes, but plain clothes are fun too!
