Jumpstart Competitive Minis Dance Camp (Ages 7–10)

Jumpstart elite training. Prepare for competitive growth.

Our Jumpstart Competitive Minis Dance Camp is designed for intermediate-level dancers ages 7–10 who are currently on the competition team, preparing to join the competition team, or who have strong aspirations to pursue competitive dance training at Chace Dance Company.

This is a more vigorous, high-expectation training experience focused on elevating technique, performance quality, versatility, and work ethic—all while keeping the energy motivating and FUN.

Unlike themed camps, Jumpstart is intentionally training-focused. Dancers will experience an intensive week of classes that mirror the structure, discipline, and excitement of competitive-level training.

Throughout the week, dancers will:

Train with Chace Dance Company’s certified in-house faculty

Work with a variety of guest instructors bringing diverse styles and professional insight

Experience a challenging mix of technique, conditioning, and style-based classes

Build confidence, stamina, and focus required for competitive dancers

Gain exposure to the level of training expected for long-term growth on a competitive team

Emphasis is placed on rhythm, musicality, and proper technique, helping dancers create clean, consistent sounds while gaining confidence. Dancers will also begin to connect steps into simple combinations and explore performance quality.

No tap experience is needed.

In partnership with Theatre in the Cloud, our Acting for Dancers class is designed to help performers bring their movement and stage presence to the next level through the art of acting. Students will learn how to project confidence, memorize lines, use facial expressions, build characters, and tell stories with authenticity both on stage and in everyday performance settings.

This class is especially beneficial for dancers preparing for auditions, musical theatre opportunities, commercials, and stage performances where personality and expression matter just as much as technique. Dancers will strengthen public speaking skills, creativity, emotional connection, and the ability to perform with confidence under pressure. A fun and empowering class for ages 7 and up looking to shine brighter on stage and beyond!

This class helps dancers develop rhythm awareness, balance, listening skills, and confidence while creating music with their feet. Tap is an excellent style for improving overall coordination and quick thinking, while building a strong performance presence. A fantastic beginner class for dancers who love energy, creativity, and making some noise!
