Ballet II requires placement class prior for enrollment. The class focuses on intermediate barre work, center exercises, and across the floor combinations. Students learn technique and placement, while emphasizing musicality. Combinations to strengthen the legs, feet, and ankles are introduced to prepare students for pointe work. We highly recommend students at this level take class twice a week for optimal growth. Students perform in the Student Showcase at the end of the Spring Semester.

Tap classes are designed to develop rhythm, style and sound. Students will learn a variety of tap styles from Broadway to Rhythm tap. Exercises focus on building flexibility of the knee and ankles, coordination, and speed of movement. The class emphasis is on developing proper tap technique, producing clear tap sounds, and having fun.

Musical Theater-Performance
Must be taken with a technical class, ballet or jazz. This class is one day per week. Register if interested, we will select the best day once we have enough interest. Musical theatre is a form of theatrical performance that combines songs, spoken dialogue, acting and dance. The story and emotional content of a musical – humor, pathos, love, anger – are communicated through words, music, movement and technical aspects of the entertainment as an integrated whole. This is a required class for competitive students and can assist performance dancers with their overall stage presence.
