This class is designed for adults who are new to ballet or returning after time away and want to rebuild strength, technique, and confidence in a supportive, welcoming environment.

Classes focus on:
-Fundamental ballet technique and alignment
-Strength, flexibility, and coordination
-Barre work followed by center exercises
-Clear instruction with modifications offered as needed

No prior ballet experience is required. Returning dancers are equally welcome, and exercises are layered so dancers can work at an appropriate level for their background. This is a class-focused program with no required performance or recital. Any performance opportunities, if offered in the future, will always be optional. Perfect for adults looking for an alternative fitness class blended with the artistry of ballet. Participants will have opportunities to get moving, challenge themselves, and reconnect with ballet.

About the teacher:

Danielle Dreis is a classically trained ballet artist with extensive professional performance and teaching experience. She began dancing at age five under the direction of Ballet West dancer Raymond Van Mason and went on to study on scholarship at the Joffrey Ballet School in New York, as well as at institutions including the Bolshoi Ballet, Interlochen Arts Academy, and Palucca Schule für Tanz in Germany. Danielle holds a BFA in Ballet from the University of Utah and has danced professionally with Ballet Next in New York City and with Royal Caribbean since 2019. In addition to performing internationally, she has taught ballet, pointe, technique, strength, and conditioning at a variety of studios and intensives. Now based in Chapel Hill, Danielle is a valued member of the Renner Dance faculty. She currently works with our youth students and is excited to bring the same thoughtful, welcoming approach to our adult ballet classes, with an emphasis on technique, alignment, strength, and artistry.
