Mini Tap & Ballet
Mini tap and ballet is a combo class consisting of 20 mins of tap and 25 mins of ballet.
This program allows children to learn dance in a way to keep their attention. Taught in a nurturing environment; this class gives young students the basis to develop their love and appreciation of dance. This class teaches basic dance elements such as: basic dance steps, locomotor movement, limbering exercises, musical awareness, and creative expression and coordination skills. It also teaches listening skills to follow directions and teaches them about patterns and rhythms and teamwork as well as building confidence.
Dress Code:
Girls: light blue leotard, pink tights with black tap shoes and pink ballet shoes with elastic bands across the top of the foot. Dance skirts are optional. Hair must be secured out of the dancer’s face in a neat bun, braid or ponytail.
Boys: Solid colored T-shirt and pants or shorts (no sweatpants) with thin socks, black tap shoes & ballet shoes.

This class is perfect for those in K through 2nd grade. Students will be building their confidence as they learn rhythmic patterns and develop their jazz and acro technique!

Girls: Dark Blue leotard, tan tights with tan jazz shoes and ability to be barefoot for acro. Dance skirts are optional. Hair must be secured out of the dancer's face in a neat bun, braid or ponytail.

This class follows the Acrobatic Arts syllabus that builds strong performers. We will focus on gaining body control, flexibility and strength as well as fundamental acrobatic technique that enhance their agility. Students will learn such things as handstands, chin and elbow stands, cartwheels, back bends, walkovers, and many others as the dancers progress to such things as specialty tricks. Each student progresses on a individual level with exams given frequently to make sure they are learning at the appropriate level.
Pre-requisite: Acrobatic Skills Audition

Our instructor is certified in Rhythm Works Integrative Dance which is a groundbreaking rhythm and dance program designed for those with individual learning differences and abilities. This class is great for those with special needs. It will focus on gross and fine motor skills, body awareness, body control, social skills, strength, flexibility, focus, imitation, memory & recall coordination and so much more.
