Kingston School of Dance COVID 19 Safety Guidelines and Policies 2022/23
KSD IN- STUDIO COVID-19 Safety Guidelines
ATTENTION: Adherence to these safety guidelines is mandatory as directed by the City of Kingston and Public Health. Anyone who is found in contravention of guidelines will be sent home.
• Masking during class is up to personal choice
• If you have any cold of flu-like symptoms, please stay home.
Class Etiquette:
• Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your scheduled class time and arrange for pick up in a prompt and timely manner after class has concluded. Kingston School of Dance (KSD) staff is not available to supervise your child/ward outside of class time.
• Please dress appropriately for your class. See dress code/ask instructor for more information.
• No food, gum, cell phones, offensive language or street shoes permitted in the studios.
• Please encourage a positive educational environment for your fellow students.
• Instructors have the authority to remove a student from class for being disruptive.
Class Placement and Exam Considerations:
• Instructors reserve the right to determine appropriate class levels for all students. This may change at some point during the term and will be discussed with parents/guardians by private appointment.
• Upon attaining higher a class levels, students may be required to attend additional classes. This is to ensure their safety and adequate preparation for the physical demands of advanced dance technique.
• Students enrolled in a Cecchetti Ballet Syllabus class may be offered the opportunity to take an exam at the discretion of their instructor(s). This will require an additional fee payable to the examiner and to the Cecchetti Society of Canada. All fee's will be posted at the beginning of each term. Exams may fall on any day of the week. All efforts will be made to make these dates and fees available as soon as possible. Please refer to our website for scheduling updates.
Facility Policies:
• Please remove outdoor footwear upon entering the studio to help keep our studio clean and our floors safe.
• Kindly respect that we area NUT-FREE facility.
• Please advise us of any allergies in your registration form. Any Epi-pens need to be given to the instructor prior to each class.
• Please stay informed of upcoming events, performances, master classes, volunteer opportunities, fee deadlines, meetings etc. by visiting www.kingstonschoolofdance.ca, our Facebook page, or the KSD Newsletter via email.
• Kingston School of Dance is not responsible for lost or stolen articles. Please check the Lost and Found regularly for missing items. Unclaimed items will be donated to a local charity at the conclusion of each term.
• In the case of inclement weather, Kingston School of Dance will close. These closures will be posted on the Kingston School of Dance as well as via email if possible.
Payment and Refund Policies:
• ALL dancers must register through the KSD website members portal, Dance Studio Pro.
• A Covid-19 and studio waiver must be signed in order for dancers to attend classes. Sign into Dance Studio Pro, click the "More" tab, click "Waivers", check the "I agree to the terms and conditions" box, then click "Accept".
• KSD offers these convenient payment options:
- E-transfer to ksd@kingstonschoolofdance.ca (auto-deposit - no password required)
- Credit Card (3% delivery surcharge) Dance Studio Pro by Paypal or Paypal directly
- Please contact us to arrange another payment method of cash, cheques (post-dated), debit card, credit card (3% fee) if needed.
• Tuition is due in full at the beginning of Term or in 2 or 4 instalments. Fees more than 30 days late will be subject to a 5% late charge. Delinquent accounts may result in student suspension.
• A Performance Fee of $50 for 1-2 classes, $75 for 3-4 and $100 for 5+ will apply in Term 2 for all dancers participating in the yearâ€end performance. This helps to cover costs associated with producing the show.
• NSF payments will be subject to a $48 fee with repayment. All future payments thereafter must be remitted via debit, e-transfer or credit card.
• Pro-Ârated refunds are only available during the first 3 weeks of a term. No refunds will be issued on any fee after this time period unless withdrawal from the program is due to medical issue, verified by a doctor’s letter. Lost or un-cashed refund cheques will not be replaced beyond 6 months from the date of issue.
