Purpose of Monitoring
Empower School of Movement is committed to maintaining a safe, secure, and supportive environment for our students, families, staff, and visitors.
For safety, security, incident review, and facility protection purposes, Empower School of Movement utilizes security cameras within designated areas of the facility. These security cameras may record both video and audio.
Areas Subject to Monitoring
Security cameras may be located in areas including, but not limited to:
Dance studios and instructional spaces
Hallways and common areas
Lobby and reception areas
Entrances and exits
Other appropriate areas of the facility
Cameras will not be installed in restrooms, changing areas, or other locations where an individual would reasonably expect privacy.
Use of Recordings
Video and/or audio recordings may be reviewed when reasonably necessary for purposes including:
Student and staff safety
Reviewing accidents, injuries, or other incidents
Addressing behavioral or disciplinary concerns
Investigating reported concerns or disputes
Facility security and protection of property
Compliance with applicable legal or safety requirements
Recordings are intended primarily for internal safety and security purposes and are not intended for public viewing or routine distribution.
Empower School of Movement will take reasonable measures to limit access to recordings to authorized individuals. Recordings may also be disclosed when required by law, pursuant to a valid legal request, or when reasonably necessary to address an emergency or safety concern.
Parent/Guardian Acknowledgment and Consent
By signing below, I acknowledge that:
I have been informed that Empower School of Movement uses security cameras within designated areas of its facility.
I understand that these cameras may capture and record both video and audio of my child while they are participating in classes, rehearsals, programs, events, or other activities at the facility.
I understand that monitoring is used for safety, security, incident review, and other legitimate operational purposes.
I understand that security recordings are separate from photographs or videos taken for promotional, marketing, social media, or advertising purposes. This acknowledgment does not constitute a media release or permission for Empower School of Movement to use security footage for promotional purposes.
I consent to my child being captured through the facility's security video and audio monitoring system while present in monitored areas.
I understand that Empower School of Movement cannot guarantee that security cameras will capture every incident, location, or interaction and that the presence of security cameras does not replace normal staff supervision or safety procedures.
Consent
I have read and understand the Security Camera & Audio Monitoring Acknowledgment and Consent above. By signing below, I acknowledge and consent to the video and audio monitoring described in this policy.
