CODE OF CONDUCT

*STUDENTS & PARENTS/CARERS RESPONSIBILITIES: Students and parents/carers are expected to:
- Demonstrate respect at all times towards teachers, staff, fellow students, and visitors, including using appropriate titles such as Miss or Mr when addressing teachers.
- Arrive on time, ideally 5–10 minutes before class, to allow for preparation and warm-up and to support the smooth running of classes.
- Arrange meetings with teachers outside of class time by appointment only, to avoid disruption to teaching and learning.
- Observe classes only during official Open Weeks or when prior approval has been granted by the Director.
- Maintain appropriate behaviour and noise levels, particularly in shared spaces such as the foyer and waiting areas.
- Respect studio property, including facilities, equipment, and furnishings, and refrain from behaviour that may cause damage.
- Keep the studio clean and hygienic, disposing of rubbish appropriately and leaving spaces tidy after use.
- Ensure that all children (including preschool children) are changed and dressed only in designated bathroom areas, in line with child safety and privacy standards.
- Follow the studio’s nutrition guidelines, supporting the health and wellbeing of students’ mind, body, and spirit.
- Comply with all reasonable directions given by staff to ensure safety and wellbeing.

*STUDIO & TEACHER COMMITMENTS: The studio and its teachers commit to:
- Act with professionalism, integrity, and care in all interactions with students, parents/carers, and colleagues.
- Deliver classes with appropriate skill, care, and diligence, in line with professional standards and industry best practice.
- Provide a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment, free from discrimination, harassment, or bullying, in accordance with Australian anti-discrimination legislation.
- Maintain current professional knowledge and skills through ongoing professional development.
- Act in the best interests of students, promoting their wellbeing, safety, and confidence at all times.
- Respect privacy and confidentiality, handling personal information in accordance with Australian privacy laws and only disclosing information where consent is given or where required by law.
- Comply with all relevant Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) requirements, ensuring reasonable steps are taken to minimise risks during classes and studio activities.
- Uphold the reputation, values, and standards of the studio in all professional conduct.

*SUPERVISION & DUTY OF CARE:
- Students are only supervised during their scheduled class times.
- The studio and its staff are not responsible for students before, between, or after classes, including during breaks.
- Parents/carers are responsible for ensuring appropriate supervision arrangements outside of class times.
