2026-27 Studio Policies - Waiver & Release
Contractual Obligations:
I acknowledge and agree that I am contracting Footprints Dance Centre to provide a service to me, and that service is the provision of dance activities to me and/or a child on behalf of whom I am paying. Information regarding me and/or a child, including but not limited to schedule, payments, attendance and any and all other incidents to the provision of the service, shall only be released to me as the Payor for the service. In the event I wish for information to be released to any other individual, I must execute an authorization and consent and am further aware this consent can be withdrawn at any time in my sole discretion.
Special Procedures:
In allowing my child to participate in Footprints Dance Centre’s activities, I hereby assume all the risks associated with the performing arts. I understand the importance of myself and my child following the instructions and rules set by their instructors, and I agree to release Footprints Dance Centre and its instructors and staff of any and all liability which may arise as a result of my child’s participation in activities at or representing Footprints Dance Centre.
I agree to adhere to any special procedures that are implemented at Footprints Dance Centre for the protection of my child and myself. I recognize that these procedures may vary and change throughout the dance season and agree to keep myself and my child informed of these policies. In the event that in-person classes are discontinued by governing bodies, I understand that classes will be transferred and delivered via an online platform at the same rate.
Medical Release:
By registering for activities at Footprints Dance Centre I acknowledge that participation in dance is potentially dangerous and there is an inherent risk of injury involved.

Media Consent:
Media content of youth members and their activities may be collected while participating at the centre. This media content may include but is not limited to: photos, videos, stories, interviews, quotes, audio recordings, and youth projects.
This media content may be used for but not limited to: printed materials, website, social media, funding reports, promotional videos, grant applications, evaluations, research, television, radio, newspaper, and/or internal reports published without limitation throughout the universe. Media content may be used as little or as often as seen fit by Footprints Dance Centre without compensation. Youth members and parents/guardians are also advised that youth may be involved in activities that are covered by the media, and that they may be photographed, filmed or interviewed at any time. Youth members and parent/guardians may not be notified when media content is collected and used. Footprints Dance Centre reserves the right to release and publish this media content as we see fit.
Communication:
We do 90% of our correspondence by email. Please make sure that info@footprintsdancecentre.com is on your safe list so the newsletters don’t go to your junk mail folder. It is important that you read these messages as they contain vital information regarding the studio. We will not send you any spam, just studio-related news. If you do not hear from us, please verify that we have the correct email address on file.
Payment:
All monthly payments are due on the 1st of each month (from September-May) and payable no later than the 15th of each month. After the 15th of the month, overdue accounts will have a 5% late fee added to their account monthly. We are happy to offer monthly withdrawals for credit cards only. Please sign up at reception if you are interested in leaving us your credit card information. You may also leave post-dated cheques for the season. A $25.00 fee applies to all cheques returned NSF. The replacement payment must be in the form of cash, debit or credit card. If a family’s account runs behind by more than two months, Footprints Dance Centre reserves the right to discontinue services and un-enroll students from class. Please note that when recital tickets become available for purchase in May, family accounts must have a $0.00 account balance before purchasing recital tickets.
Membership Fee ($15.00) is due upon registration once per year..
Costume Fees are due by October 31, 2026. If registering past this date, costume fees are due one month after registration. Costume Fees are non-refundable.
Please note: Tuition is NOT based on the number of classes per month. It merely represents one-ninth of the season’s tuition. It is divided for your convenience.
Refund Policy
Membership, Tuition and Costume Fees are fully non-refundable. Should your dancer choose to discontinue class, you will be responsible to pay for fees leading up to and including the month of withdrawal. All dance clothing is non-refundable, exchange only on class dancewear that is new unused and in original packaging.
Footprints Dance Centre is unable to provide refunds or credits for any materials, classes, lessons, workshops, or performances that are cancelled or are unable to proceed as the result of governmental orders, natural disasters, or pandemic.
Inclement Weather & Class Cancellations
On occasion classes may be canceled due to poor weather conditions or circumstances beyond our control (e.g extended power outage). We will do our best to contact you in advance, but if you are in doubt, please call the studio and check your email. We are unable to offer refunds or makeup classes for classes canceled if the studio is closed due to inclement weather. One snow day per day of the week is built into the season.
If an individual teacher is unable to come in due to personal circumstances (illness, weather, family emergency, etc) and a substitute is unable to be found, those classes will be made up at the studio’s earliest convenience.
Lost Property:
We cannot be held responsible for lost property and cannot send out emails to our contact list regarding misplaced items. We have a Lost and Found bin in the student lounge area. We recommend labeling all personal items and making sure you are leaving with the correct items (especially winter boots).
