Student Code of Conduct

1. Purpose

This student Code of Conduct outlines the expectations for behaviour at our dance
studio. It is designed to create a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment
where all students can enjoy dancing and reach their potential.

2. Our Values

At our studio, we value:
· Respect for teachers, staff, and fellow students
· Safety at all times
· Kindness, teamwork, and encouragement
· Effort, focus, and a positive attitude

3. Expected Student Behaviour

All students are expected to:
· Follow instructions from teachers and staff
· Treat others with respect and kindness
· Use appropriate language and behaviour
· Participate to the best of their ability
· Respect studio property and equipment
· Wait quietly and safely before and after class

4. Behaviour That Is Not Acceptable

The following behaviours are not acceptable:
· Disrupting the class or preventing others from learning
· Bullying, teasing, or intimidating behaviour
· Physical aggression or unsafe behaviour
· Refusing to follow reasonable instructions
· Inappropriate language or actions

5. Managing Disruptive Behaviour

Our teachers will manage behaviour in a calm and supportive manner. This may include
reminders, redirection, or a short break.
If a student's behaviour continues to disrupt the class or poses a safety risk, the student
may be asked to sit out or leave the class for the remainder of the session. Parents or
carers may be contacted where appropriate.

6. Behaviour, Attendance and Fees

Regular attendance is important for learning and class progress. In regard to behaviour:
Fees will not be refunded if a student is asked to leave a class due to ongoing disruptive
or unsafe behaviour.

7. Safety Expectations

To keep everyone safe, students must:
· Follow studio safety rules
· Wear appropriate dance attire and footwear
· Use equipment correctly
· Listen carefully during warm-ups and exercises

8. Parent and Carer Support

Parents and carers play an important role in supporting positive behaviour. We ask that
this Code of Conduct is discussed with students and reinforced at home.

9. Breaches of the Code of Conduct

Serious or repeated breaches of this Code of Conduct may result in:
· Temporary removal from class
· A meeting with parents or carers
· Suspension or cancellation of enrolment in serious cases

All decisions will be made in the best interests of student safety and wellbeing.

When enrolling at the studio, we ask that you acknowledge and agree to the policy.
