Ultraflex Dance Academy
Liability Waiver & Assumption of Risk
Version 2026–2027

Our Commitment to Safety
At Ultraflex Dance Academy, the safety and wellbeing of every student is our highest priority. We are committed to providing a positive, inclusive and professionally supervised environment where students can develop confidence, skills and a lifelong love of dance.
While every reasonable precaution is taken to minimise risk, dance, acrobatic dance and physical activity involve an inherent risk of injury that cannot be completely eliminated.
By enrolling your child at Ultraflex Dance Academy, you acknowledge and accept these inherent risks.

1. Participation in Dance Activities
Students may participate in activities including, but not limited to:
Dance technique
Stretching and flexibility exercises
Strength and conditioning
Jumps and leaps
Turns and travelling movements
Floor work
Partner work
Performance preparation
Acrobatic dance skills (where applicable)
Creative movement and dance games (particularly within younger classes)
Although all activities are carefully supervised, accidents can occur despite appropriate instruction and safety measures.

2. Parent / Guardian Responsibilities
By enrolling your child you confirm that:
Your child is medically fit to participate in dance activities.
You have fully disclosed any medical conditions, allergies, injuries, disabilities or additional support needs.
You will immediately notify Ultraflex Dance Academy of any changes to your child's health or emergency contact details.
You understand that failure to provide accurate information may affect our ability to respond appropriately during an emergency.

3. Medical Treatment
In the event of an accident or medical emergency, where a parent or emergency contact cannot be reached immediately, you authorise Ultraflex Dance Academy to:
Administer appropriate first aid.
Seek professional medical advice.
Contact emergency services where necessary.
Any medical costs remain the responsibility of the parent or guardian.

4. First Aid
Ultraflex Dance Academy has trained first aid personnel available to respond to accidents where reasonably possible.
All accidents and incidents will be recorded, and parents or guardians will be informed as soon as practicable.

5. Physical Guidance & Corrections
Dance teaching occasionally requires appropriate physical guidance to assist students with:
Correct posture
Safe body alignment
Technique
Balance
Injury prevention
Any physical contact by members of our teaching team will always be:
Professional
Respectful
Age appropriate
Appropriate for the activity being taught
In accordance with our Child Safeguarding Policy
If parents have concerns regarding physical guidance, we encourage them to discuss these with the Academy before classes commence.

6. Acrobatic Dance
Students participating in Acro Dance classes acknowledge that these classes involve additional physical challenges, including balances, rolls, flexibility work, inversions, handstands, cartwheels, limbering and progressive acrobatic skills.
Every student progresses at their own pace.
Progression is based on:
Safe technique
Strength
Flexibility
Body control
Confidence
Individual readiness
Students will only be introduced to new skills when teachers are satisfied they can perform prerequisite skills safely and consistently.
No student will be pressured to attempt a skill beyond their current level of ability.
Parents acknowledge that progression in acrobatic dance is determined solely by the professional judgement of the Ultraflex teaching team and not by age, attendance or parent expectation.
The safety and wellbeing of every student will always take precedence over progression.

7. Personal Belongings
Students remain responsible for all personal belongings brought onto Academy premises.
Ultraflex Dance Academy cannot accept responsibility for loss, theft or damage to:
Clothing
