CCTA Registration Policies & Information
The Columbia Center for Theatrical Arts is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
REGISTRATION/PAYMENT: This system allows you to register for classes. Invoices will be sent for payment from Intuit Quickbooks. Please be sure to pay your invoice as soon as possible to avoid losing your spot in the class. Note that there is a nonrefundable $20.00 registration fee on invoices. For all classes & camps, all refunds must be received in writing and sent to finance@cctarts.org after dropping the student from the class. A processing fee will be incurred. There is a $30 fee for any returned checks.
SUMMER CAMP SPECIFIC DEADLINE: Payment for summer camp sessions must be received in full by June 1, as space is limited and there is a waiting list. All requests for refunds must be made after the you drop the student from the class in the Studio Pro system and then send a request to finance@cctarts.org. A processing fee will be incurred. No Refunds will be issued for summer camp after June 1.
Registrants: should receive an email confirmation prior to the start of the class/program. If you need a copy of your receipt for tax purposes or if have any questions, please contact the CCTA at fiance@cctarts.org
LOST OR STOLEN ITEMS: CCTA is not responsible for articles left or stolen at any class or rehearsal.
PHOTOGRAPHY/VIDEO: All photographs and videos taken during class, rehearsals, and performances may be used by CCTA for publicity purposes. These could include pictures or videos of your child. I hereby affirm that such photos or video use does not constitute a requirement for any form of compensation, including royalties to those in the photos or video. I understand that I may not be notified or have the ability to review photos or videos prior to their use.
RELEASE: By submitting a registration for your child(ren), you waive, release and forever discharge CCTA, its directors, officers, employees, contractors, and approved volunteers from any and all claims for damages and injury which you or your child(ren) may have or which hereinafter may accrue to you or your child(ren) against CCTA as a result of alleged or actual negligence on the part of CCTA, its directors, officers, employees, and staff, occurring during or in connection with any participation by you or your child(ren) in CCTA activities, including classes, rehearsals, performances, and related programs and events on any site utilized by CCTA. Families should carry their own medical and accident insurance for their students. If necessary, CCTA is authorized to provide first aid or other medical treatment to the participant.
INCLEMENT WEATHER: CCTA will follow the decision of the Howard County Public School System.
If schools are closed for the day, CCTA classes and workshops will be canceled.
If schools are dismissed early, CCTA classes and workshops will be canceled.
If phase one of the snow emergency plan is in effect at 8 am on a weekend day, CCTA’s regularly scheduled programs will be canceled.
CCTA will make every attempt to make up classes missed due to inclement weather, but this is not always possible due to scheduling conflicts.

HCPSS Information Hotline to check if schools are delayed or closed. You may also call this number to find out if schools and fields are open for community use after school and weekends (call after 7:15 a.m. on weekends).
CANCELLATION DUE TO LOW ENROLLMENT: CCTA reserves the right to cancel any class or program due to low enrollment. In this event, CCTA will notify those families affected and either find a replacement class or issue a full refund.
GUESTS: CCTA does not allow guests – siblings, parents, family, friends, etc. -- in class, camp, or at rehearsals with the exception of approved one-to-one assistants. To request a one-to-one assistant be approved, send an email with their information to admin@cctarts.org. This is so we can provide a safe and focused environment for all students. If a student has a specific need or request in regards to guests, please contact the office at admin@cctarts.org.
CELL PHONES: Students may only use their cell phone in class for purposes designated by the CCTA staff. This may include, but is not limited to, recording a vocal part for them to rehearse later, or contacting a guardian about a ride after class.
CODE OF CONDUCT: In order to provide students and staff with a safe and supportive environment CCTA does not tolerate any form of physical abuse, verbal abuse, or any misbehavior that is deemed severe, including vandalism. Any behaviors found in violation of this policy, whether occurring during the course of CCTA programming or outside of CCTA programming, will be addressed and the student may be dismissed from the class or camp and no refunds will be issued. CCTA also reserves the right to discharge the student from further participation in CCTA programs. It is critical that all students behave properly to ensure the safety for all students and staff.
DROP OFF/PICK UP POLICIES: Students should be dropped off no more than 10 minutes prior to the start of a class/camp unless attending prearranged daycare. Please sign in with the assigned teacher. Parents will be assessed a $15 charge if a child is picked up 15 minutes after class is ended and an additional $1.00 per minute after that. Please be on time to pick up your child if we are unsuccessful in reaching you we will need to contact the police for support.
TICKET POLICIES: The house opens 10 minutes prior to curtain for seating. We reserve the right to sell any unclaimed seats after the scheduled start time of performance. All ticket sales are final.
MATERIALS: Each student is required to bring the following materials to class:
* folder or binder
* closed toed shoes
* comfortable clothing
* for performance-based classes, students may be asked to provide basic costume pieces from home, such as shoes, pants, etc.
