STARLIGHT DANCE STUDIO
GroupMe Communication & Choreography Access Agreement

The purpose of this agreement is to establish expectations regarding the use of the Starlight Dance Studio GroupMe platform. By participating in the GroupMe group, parents, guardians, and dancers acknowledge and agree to the following terms and conditions.

1. Purpose of GroupMe

Starlight Dance Studio may utilize GroupMe as a supplemental communication platform for studio announcements, reminders, scheduling updates, costume information, recital information, choreography review videos, rehearsal notes, and other studio-related communications.

GroupMe is provided as a convenience to enrolled families and is intended to support, but not replace, regular studio communications and in-person instruction.

2. One-Way Communication Platform

GroupMe is intended to function as a one-way communication channel from Starlight Dance Studio to parents and dancers.

Parents and students understand and agree that:

Direct messages sent through GroupMe may not be monitored or reviewed.
Questions, concerns, absences, scheduling requests, billing matters, or other issues requiring a response should be directed through the studio's designated communication channels.
Starlight Dance Studio is under no obligation to respond to messages sent through GroupMe.
3. Choreography Ownership and Intellectual Property

All choreography, routines, formations, concepts, music edits, instructional videos, rehearsal recordings, performance materials, creative concepts, and artistic works shared through GroupMe remain the sole and exclusive intellectual property of Starlight Dance Studio and/or its choreographers.

Participation in GroupMe does not grant any ownership interest, license, permission, or right to reproduce, distribute, teach, perform, adapt, modify, publish, or otherwise use the choreography or creative content outside of participation in Starlight Dance Studio programs.

4. Confidentiality and Restricted Use

Any choreography videos, rehearsal recordings, instructional materials, screenshots, photographs, audio recordings, messages, or other content shared through GroupMe are intended solely for the personal review and use of enrolled Starlight Dance Studio dancers and their parents or guardians.

Such materials may not be:

Shared outside the GroupMe platform;
Posted to social media or public websites;
Forwarded to individuals outside the dancer's immediate household;
Distributed to other studios, teams, instructors, choreographers, organizations, or competitors;
Copied, downloaded, repurposed, taught, or used for any commercial, instructional, or competitive purpose unrelated to Starlight Dance Studio.
5. Zero-Tolerance Policy

Starlight Dance Studio maintains a zero-tolerance policy regarding the unauthorized sharing, copying, recording, distribution, publication, or misuse of choreography and proprietary creative materials.

Any violation of this policy may result in:

Immediate removal from GroupMe;
Loss of access to choreography videos and supplemental materials;
Additional corrective action at the sole discretion of Starlight Dance Studio.
6. Protection of Creative Rights

The studio and its choreographers invest significant time, expertise, and creative effort in developing original choreography and artistic works. Parents and dancers acknowledge that unauthorized sharing or distribution of choreography may violate intellectual property rights and compromise the integrity of the studio's competitive and creative programs.

If Starlight Dance Studio reasonably believes that choreography, instructional materials, or creative content have been shared, distributed, copied, taught, recorded, or otherwise misused without authorization, the studio reserves the right to immediately discontinue the posting of choreography or creative content through GroupMe, either for an individual participant, a specific class, or the entire studio.

7. No Guarantee of Content Availability

Starlight Dance Studio may, at its sole discretion, share rehearsal videos, choreography review materials, reminders, and other supplemental content through GroupMe.

Parents and dancers acknowledge that:

The studio is under no obligation to post any specific content.
Choreography videos may not be posted weekly.
Choreography may only be posted periodically or as deemed necessary by the instructor.
The frequency, timing, and availability of content may vary throughout the season.
GroupMe access and shared materials are provided as a courtesy and convenience only.
8. Review Purposes Only

Any choreography videos, rehearsal recordings, instructional clips, corrections, or other supplemental materials shared through GroupMe are provided solely for review, reinforcement, and practice purposes.

These materials are intended to assist dancers in reviewing choreography that has already been taught during class or rehearsal and are not a substitute for regular class attendance, rehearsal participation, instructor feedback, or in-person instruction.

Students remain responsible for attending scheduled classes, rehearsals, intensives, and performances and for learning all choreography, corrections, formations, spacing adjustments, technique expectations, and artistic direction presented during studio instruction, regardless of whether supplemental materials are shared through GroupMe.

Starlight Dance Studio makes no representation or guarantee that all choreography, corrections, formations, cleaning notes, or rehearsal content will be recorded or posted. In-person instruction remains the primary method of teaching and learning choreography.

9. Reservation of Rights

Starlight Dance Studio reserves the right to modify, suspend, restrict, discontinue, or remove access to GroupMe or any content-sharing platform at any time and for any reason, with or without notice.

Access to GroupMe may be revoked if studio policies are violated.

Parent/Guardian Acknowledgment and Acceptance

I acknowledge that I have read, understand, and agree to abide by the terms of the Starlight Dance Studio GroupMe Communication & Choreography Access Agreement. I understand that choreography and all related creative materials are the property of Starlight Dance Studio and its choreographers and that unauthorized sharing, recording, distribution, or use of such materials is strictly prohibited.

I further acknowledge that GroupMe is a supplemental, one-way communication resource; that choreography videos are provided solely for review purposes; and that Starlight Dance Studio is under no obligation to post, record, or share instructional content through the platform.
