All-Star Cheer Parent Code of Conduct
As a parent or guardian of an athlete in the All-Star Cheer program, you are an essential
part of our team. This Code of Conduct is designed to ensure that parents contribute
positively to the success of the athletes, the coaches, and the program as a whole. By
following these guidelines, you help create a supportive and respectful environment for
your child and their teammates.
1. General Expectations
• Positive Support: Encourage your child’s growth and development in a positive
manner. Be a role model of sportsmanship, respect, and dedication both inside and
outside of the gym.
• Commitment: Understand that your child’s involvement in All-Star Cheer requires
time, dedication, and commitment. Support their efforts to attend practices, events,
and competitions regularly.
• Respect: Treat all athletes, coaches, staff, and other parents with respect and
courtesy at all times. Be a supportive and positive presence for the team.
2. Communication and Conduct
• Respectful Communication: If you have concerns or questions regarding your
child’s experience, performance, or any team-related issues, please communicate
directly with the coach or staff in a respectful and timely manner. The appropriate
times for communication are typically not during practices, competitions, or team
events.
• Supportive Behavior: When interacting with coaches and gym staff, maintain a
positive and respectful tone. Refrain from criticizing coaching decisions in public or
during practice times.
• Active Involvement: Stay informed and engaged in all aspects of your child’s
cheerleading experience. Attend meetings, read communications from coaches,
and stay on top of team schedules and updates.
3. Competition Behavior for Parents
• Positive Attitude: Cheer and support all athletes, not just your own child, during
competitions and events. Maintain a positive and encouraging attitude toward all
competitors.
• Respect for Officials and Coaches: Always show respect to judges, officials, and
other coaches during competitions. Do not engage in confrontations or
disagreements with officials.
• Team Unity: Emphasize teamwork and unity. Avoid creating any division or negative
atmosphere around the team, especially during high-stress competition times.
4. Respect for Coaches and Gym Staff
• Trust in Coaches: Trust the judgment and decisions made by the coaching staff.
Remember that coaches are trained professionals and have the best interests of all
athletes in mind.
• Constructive Feedback: If you need to address an issue with a coach or staff
member, schedule a meeting at an appropriate time to discuss any concerns
professionally and respectfully.
• Gym Staff Appreciation: Show appreciation and respect for the gym staff who work
hard behind the scenes to make practices, competitions, and events run smoothly.
5. Team Culture and Drama Prevention
• Fostering Positivity: As a parent, you play an important role in maintaining a
positive and supportive atmosphere. Refrain from engaging in any gossip, negativity,
or drama that could harm the morale of the team.
• Encourage Respect and Teamwork: Teach your child the value of teamwork and
the importance of respecting all teammates, regardless of skill level or role in the
program.
• Conflict Resolution: If any concerns arise between teammates, please encourage
open and respectful communication. Do not engage in or fuel conflicts outside of
team practice and events.
6. Social Media Policy
• Competition Videos: Parents are allowed to film their child’s routine or
performance during competitions for personal use, but these videos should not be
posted on any public social media platforms.
• Respectful Posting: Refrain from posting any negative comments about the team,
coaches, staff, or other athletes on social media. Always represent the team in a
positive, respectful, and supportive manner.
• No Sharing of Routines or Choreography: For the protection of intellectual
property and team integrity, do not share routines, music, or choreography on
social media or any public platforms without explicit permission from the coach or
gym.
• Promoting Positivity: Celebrate and promote your child’s achievements, as well as
the accomplishments of their teammates, in a respectful and encouraging way on
social media.
7. Financial Commitment Expectations
• Understanding Financial Obligations: As a parent, you are responsible for meeting
the financial obligations associated with your child’s participation in the All-Star
Cheer program. This includes tuition, competition fees, uniform costs, and any
other required expenses.
• Timely Payments: Ensure that all fees are paid on time. Failure to meet financial
obligations may affect your child’s participation in practices, events, or
competitions.
• Transparent Financial Communication: If there are any issues with meeting the
f
inancial expectations, communicate directly with the program’s administration as
soon as possible to work out a solution.
8. Consequences for Violations
Failure to adhere to this Parent Code of Conduct may result in the following consequences:
• Verbal Warning: A coach or program director may issue a verbal warning for minor
violations.
• Written Warning: If issues persist, a written warning will be issued outlining the
concern and expectations for improvement.
• Temporary Suspension: For more severe violations or repeated misconduct, the
parent may be temporarily suspended from attending practices or competitions.
• Permanent Removal: In cases of extreme or ongoing violations, the parent may be
permanently removed from participation in team activities, which could affect the
athlete’s standing within the program.
