Terms and Conditions – Valerie Heston School of Dance

1. Alternative Classes Outside VHSD Studios
If a student wishes to attend classes or workshops held outside VHSD studios, prior approval must be sought from the Principal of VHSD before committing to examinations or competition work. Approval is at the Principal’s discretion to ensure alignment with VHSD's training standards.

2. Media Consent
By default, students and their guardians grant permission for VHSD to use photos, videos, or other media of students for promotional and general use across platforms such as the VHSD website, social media, print materials, and advertising campaigns.

- Consent is valid indefinitely unless withdrawn. To withdraw consent, written notice must be provided to the above email address.

- All choreography, routines, and creative works taught or created at VHSD are the intellectual property of the studio. These works may not be performed, reproduced, or shared in any form without the prior written permission of the Principal.

3. Public Health Measures
VHSD is committed to maintaining a safe and healthy environment. In the event of a public health outbreak or emergency, VHSD will adhere to government regulations, which may include:

- The temporary suspension of in-person classes.
- The transition of classes to an online format at short notice.

In the event of unforeseen circumstances beyond the control of VHSD, such as natural disasters, pandemics, or government-mandated closures, VHSD reserves the right to modify, postpone, or cancel classes. In such cases, refunds or concessions will be provided at the sole discretion of VHSD. Classes that do not run due to public health measures will not incur charges. However, classes delivered online will remain billable, with possible concessions at VHSD's discretion. Notifications regarding changes will be provided via email or other official communication channels.

4. Student Conduct and Studio Policies
Students are expected to:
- Follow all studio rules, including those related to parking, attendance, and respectful conduct.
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive environment, free from bullying or harassment.

VHSD enforces a zero-tolerance policy for bullying. Any form of disrespectful or inappropriate behavior may result in disciplinary action, including warnings, suspension, or removal from the program, depending on the severity of the offense.

5. Liability and Assumption of Risk
Participation in dance classes and related activities involves physical exertion and some inherent risks of injury. By enrolling at VHSD, students and their guardians acknowledge these risks and agree to:

- Assume all responsibility for any injury or loss sustained during classes or events.
- Release VHSD, its staff, and instructors from any liability arising from injuries or accidents, except where negligence is determined.

The Valerie Heston School of Dance, its staff, and instructors shall not be held liable for any injuries, damages, or losses sustained during participation in classes, rehearsals, performances, or any related activities, whether on or off the premises, except in cases of gross negligence. Participants acknowledge the inherent risks associated with physical activities and voluntarily assume all risks.

6. Payment and Refund Policies
- All tuition fees are due as outlined in the enrolment package. Late payments may incur a late fee of up to 15%. Any disputes regarding fees must be raised in writing within 30 days of the due date to finance@valerieheston.com - Unresolved disputes may be referred to an independent mediator, the costs of which will be shared equally by both parties.
- Missed classes without a valid medical certificate are not refundable or transferable.
- In the event of withdrawal, refunds may be provided at the Principal’s discretion and are subject to an administrative fee.

7. Privacy and Data Protection
VHSD is committed to protecting the privacy of its students and their families. Personal information collected during enrolment will be:

-Used solely for administrative and communication purposes.
- Stored securely and not shared with third parties without consent, except as required by law.
