STUDIO CODE OF CONDUCT
Premiere Studio of Dance is committed to providing a safe and uplifting dance experience for all. We ask that everyone follow our code of conduct to create a positive, memorable and fun dance experience!
Dancers AND parents are simply asked to conduct themselves in a way that promotes respect and encourages others to always be their best self. Any actions, whether they are verbal, written, or physical that are perceived as intimidating, threatening or otherwise hostile, are strictly forbidden. Parents/guardians and students that choose not to follow the Studio code of conduct will be removed from the Studio immediately without refund.
STUDIO POLICIES
Recreational Members
• If your dancer is not enjoying their class, don’t worry – withdrawing or switching classes is available up until December 1, 2026. After this date, no class changes can be made due to recital costume orders and enrollment constraints.
• Refund Policy: Refunds on fees paid for future lessons are available up to December 1, 2026, based on the withdrawal date. Lessons before or within 24 hours after withdrawal are not refundable. Beginning September 1, 2026, a 10% withdrawal fee applies to all refunds. After December 1, 2026, no refunds on classes or costume deposits will be issued. Withdrawals must be communicated in person, by phone, or email with office staff.
• Annual Membership Fees are non-refundable after registration is processed.
• A $35 fee applies to all NSF payments.
• For two-installment payments, the second (final) payment must be received by December 1, 2026.
• Recreational recital costumes can range from $90 to $250 and are yours to keep! A $65 deposit is paid at registration; the balance ($25-$185) is due by May 29, 2027 prior to pick-up for recital. Any required alterations will be arranged by the Studio.
• The balance of costume fees are owed regardless of class/recital participation once the December 1, 2026 withdrawal deadline has passed.
• Specific tights and shoes may be required for recital performances; details will be provided in spring 2027.
• Recital tickets go on sale in early May 2027 at approximately $31-$35 per ticket. The Studio is not responsible if families cannot purchase desired tickets due to high demand. Recital dates/times may change.
• Stay informed: be sure an active email address is on file, visit www.premieredance.ca, and follow us on social media for all updates! Email is our primary method of communication.
• Make-up classes, refunds, or credits are not offered for missed classes.
• Classes are only cancelled due to extreme weather, with notification sent day of via email and posted on our website/social media. Such cancellations will not be made up or refunded. In cases of excessive weather cancellation of the same weekday, makeup classes may be considered, should studio schedule & teacher availability allow.
• The Studio reserves the right to not allow dancer participation in classes/events on any late accounts.
• A 7% monthly interest will be applied on late accounts.
Competitive Members
(All policies above apply in addition to the following):
• Competitive costumes can cost up to $450 per costume, are often custom-made, and are the dancers’ to keep. Due to their complexity and frequent use in performances, they must be durable and ornate.
• Costume deposits of $100 per comp routine are due by October 1, 2026 and are non-refundable. Deposits for routines that do not end up receiving a studio-arranged costume will be credited back to your account before Showcase 2027.
• Competitive Team members pay a non-refundable $250 competition entry fee deposit at registration for the 2026-27 season. If a dancer is placed in the Recreational program after the time of registration in the Competitive Program, the $250 may be applied as a credit on your account.
• Placement in competitive classes is at the teacher’s discretion and may change until October 7, 2026.
• Withdrawals from competitive classes on or before October 7, 2026, may receive a refund for fees paid for future lessons (less a 10% administrative fee). Costume deposits, competition deposits, and lesson fees up to/on the withdrawal date are non-refundable.
• Competition entry fees balance is due by November 10, 2026. 7% per month late fees apply.
• Part-Time (B) level dancers train under 6 hours per week. Full-Time (A) level dancers train a minimum of 6 hours per week.
• Excessive class absence may result in being required to sit out of events/performances or, in some cases, removal from the team without eligibility for a refund.
• Competitive team members are required to wear an official PSD merchandise item at all competitions. Studio name, logos and likeness may not be copied or used to create personal merchandise. Only authentic, studio-approved PSD merchandise is permitted to be worn at competitions.
• Competitive team members agree to attend all events (Competitive Showcase, Competitions, Recitals, etc.). Exceptions for injury (with medical note) or prior written notification before October 7, 2026, may be considered. Failure to attend Studio Events outlined in the 2026-27 Registration Package may result in removal from the competitive team without eligibility for a refund.
