Aug 31, 2025 10:41 AM

Welcome to Activated Arts! We are so excited to support you in honing your craft, growing as artists, achieving new levels of excellence in dance & the performing arts… and most of all, have a ton of FUN!

SEASON: Our 2025-2026 season begins on August 18, 2025. The season ends with our end-of-year recitals on Saturday, May 2, 2026.

Enrollment is on a “first-come” basis and will be closed once class limits are met. Any class with less than four students may be combined or canceled. If this occurs, a replacement class will be found for you, or your tuition will be refunded.

Dancers may still choose to take advantage of private lessons during May, June & July, after a season ends, however it is dependent upon staff & studio availability.

TUITION:
Tuition is a monthly charge that is due by the fifth of each month, August – April, with the exception of the first month. The first monthly tuition charge will occur at the time of enrollment/ online registration, or is due by the first day of classes on August 18, 2025.
A $20 late fee will be applied to your account after the 10th of the month.
Returned checks are subject to a $30 fee.

REGULAR CLASS RATES:
30 minute class - $45 per month
45 minute class - $55 per month
60 minute class - $70 per month
90 minute class - $85 per month

COMBO CLASS RATES:

Adapted Arts - $40 per month
Dance/Acting Private Lesson - $50 per session

COMPANY MEMBERSHIP PACKAGES:
Company Membership - $285 per month
Mini Co Membership - $175 per month

Monthly tuition is based on a student receiving 30 weeks of classes for each class offered between our full season dates of August 18, 2025 - May 2, 2026. Monthly payment amounts are not based on how many weeks fall in any given month. You are paying for the entire year in 9 monthly installments.

Timely tuition payments are essential to the operation of our program. Families must remain current on all tuition and fee obligations. If an account becomes more than two (2) months past due, the student will be suspended from participation in rehearsals, classes, and performances until the account is brought current. Continued nonpayment may result in removal for the remainder of the season.

All Tuition, Costume Fees and Recital Fees are non-refundable.

Instructors have the right to cancel one class without a makeup session due to illness, family events, etc. Activated Arts will make every effort to find a substitute teacher, if possible, so classes do not need to be canceled. All cancellations will be relayed through email, BAND app, Facebook & Instagram posts.

We’ve made sure that our scheduled holiday closings do not affect dancers receiving a minimum of 30 weeks of classes, however make-up classes will not be required for classes that must be canceled due to inclement weather or other, uncontrollable acts of God.

There is no tuition reimbursement for dancers missing classes or being gone for a certain amount of time. If a dancer drops a class or moves without proper email communication one month prior, the remaining months will be billed despite absence.
If any student’s account is 2 months delinquent, the dancer will not be able to participate in class until account is up to date.

Solos, Duets & Trios are not included in Company Membership packages, and will be an additional tuition fee.

PAYMENT: It is your responsibility to make sure that payments are made on time.
A. All balances from previous years must be paid in full before your student is allowed back into class. Payment arrangements may be made when/where necessary in certain situations but must be approved by Tyler or Brianna Downey.
B. Please see below for a statement of estimated season additional fees:
i. Registration/Enrollment Fee – $40 per family
ii. Costumes Fee – Due by October 30, 2025.
Fees can vary anywhere from $50-150 per costume depending on the costume chosen by the teacher of the class. We do our very best to search for costumes that are affordable while maintaining quality, and we strive to stay in the $50-90 price range for each class. On average, costumes are less expensive when students are smaller/younger and the price goes up as they grow older.
Costumes are ordered in November for the season and are required to be paid in full at the time the studio orders them. The amount will vary for each child depending on the number of dances your child performs. Costumes fees are non-refundable.
iv. Recital Fee – $75 per student - Due March 15, 2026
A recital fee is charged to help cover the costs associated with putting on a professional-quality show/performance, such as venue rental, props, staff, production expenses, and the human resources involved in producing a smoothly run professional show (backstage staff, backstage entertainment for the dancers such as coloring books, snacks and craft stations, etc).

These fees can be reduced with participation in fundraisers that we do throughout the year. We encourage this to also help with costume costs & tuition. We offer a Super Bowl fundraiser that anyone can participate in during the winter. Many dancers take it upon themselves to do lemonade stands, car washes, sell pies, etc. It is completely up to you if you wish to participate in fundraising.

You are responsible for the fees even if your child does not dance for any reason.

COMMUNICATION: You will need to download the app BAND. We will use BAND & email primarily to communicate. Practice videos will be posted in the BAND app.

You can also email us at jc.activatedarts@gmail.com at any time.

WITHDRAWAL & REFUNDS:
One month's notice is preferred to discontinue any class. Please submit your withdrawal by email to JC.ActivatedArts@gmail.com to inform staff of the decision. Parents/families should take it upon themselves to ensure they “drop” their student from the class in the Dance Studio Pro app. Registration fees/Tuition are non-refundable.

RECITAL:
All Activated Arts students have the option to participate in one of our annual recitals (or both, depending upon which shows their dance[s] are placed in.)

Recital is Saturday, May 2, 2026 with at least 3 mandatory dress rehearsals at same point during the two weeks leading up to recital.

It will be assumed that your child is participating in the end-of-year rectial, unless you specifically inform us that you do not wish them to participate in the recital. Please email us at JC.ActivatedArts@gmail.com if you’re child will be taking classes all year, and not wishing to perform on stage at the end.

COMMUNITY EVENTS:
All Activated Arts students have the option to participate in local community events throughout the year with us.
Oktoberfest Dance Performance - Friday, October 3rd @ 6:00 PM & Saturday, October 4th @ 11:00 AM
JC Christmas Parade - Nov
Hometown Christmas Dance Performance - Saturday, December 6th between 4:00-8:00 PM (We will have a 30-minute time slot within those hours to perform)

CLASS PLACEMENT:
While age is one used guideline for placement in some dance classes, in some circumstances class placement is based on the dancer’s level of proper technique, maturity, and ability to apply corrections. We may choose to enroll students in a class that’s age range is above or below the child’s age in an effort to make sure each student in a class has the ability to gain the most training by the end of each season. We want our students to be successful & to improve. Our ultimate goal is to have dancers with superb technique, excellent musicality, proper alignment, flexibility, the ability to absorb & apply choreography quickly, and high performance qualities. These goals take time, and building a strong foundation and strong technique can only be done through much repetition… years & years of quality dance education.
Our staff regularly discusses student’s progress and/or placement. It is our policy to offer appropriate opportunities to every child.
Everyone learns & progresses at different times and at a different pace. Please remind your dancer that a person can always learn new things, at the lowest level or the most advanced level.
Placement decisions are derived from many years of teaching experience. Placement is highly individual and the factors that go into the decision are complex.
We care deeply for our students. We want to see them improve and be the best dancers & people that they can be. We teach them how to dance, but we also teach them the value of discipline and integrity. This will help them to grow as dancers and will hopefully be carried into their adult lives. Trust us in their class placement, and help to remind them that advancement must be earned through hard work and happens at different times for different people.

ATTENDANCE:
Our dance instructors take attendance for each class. Good attendance is very important to your dancer's success, as well as the progress of the class as a whole. Please make every effort to have your child at class each week. We understand that missing class is inevitable sometimes, but excessive absences do become a problem. If a dancer is struggling and the instructor or parent feels it necessary, a private lesson ($50 per session) may be requested to help the dancer with any missed material. If excessive absences do occur, it is within the instructor’s right to remove that dancer from the performance piece for showcase/revue.

In the event that a dancer is sick, please keep them home to avoid spreading illness. Be sure to communicate with the studio to inform the teachers of their absence. Communication should be made through the BAND app, not through a teacher’s personal cell phone.

In the event that a dancer is injured, it is expected that dancers still come and observe class.

DRESS CODE:
All members of Activated Arts are expected to wear a leotard & tights to all classes, excluding Hip Hop. (Skirts or shorts are allowed over their leotard) This allows instructors to see body positioning to ensure safety and proper posture/technique. We pride ourselves on offering top of the line training from highly qualified educators who have a deep knowledge of dance. A leotard & tights is a part of the tradition of dance that we respect with a belief in maintaining a certain standard. Uniformity in dance wear also helps instructors to notice little mistakes (a hip too high, an elbow in the wrong place, a wrist dropped, etc) when their eye is not distracted by multiple different clothing distractions from different dancers.

Hair must be in a bun for all ballet classes. Hair should be neatly pulled back & out of the face for all other styles. No large jewelry may be worn in any class or performance. Please remove bracelets, watches, rings & necklaces before entering your classroom. Students will be asked to remove them and we are not responsible for lost items. Clear nail polish only on fingers and toes during all performances, photo shoots, and productions, as well as natural colored hair.

NO CELL PHONE/SMART WATCHES: There will be no smart watches/cell phones on the dance floor during class or performances. (Except for rare cases whereas a dancer needs their smart-watch to track health outcomes, in which case the Parent/Guardian will provide this information to our studio directors beforehand.)

MISC.:
No gum is allowed in the classroom. Please only bring in water bottles with lids. Please clearly label all shoes/dance bags with your dancer’s name. No nuts, fish or shellfish as snacks.

INCLEMENT WEATHER:
Activated Arts will follow Junction City School District policy to determine any unscheduled studio closing in the event of inclement weather. There are no partial refunds of tuition for classes canceled due to inclement weather.

PHOTOGRAPHY / MEDIA:
Throughout the dance season, many photos/videos will be taken at the studio and at various events. Upon signing our policies agreement, you give permission for Activated Arts to use photos of your student on our studio website and/or Facebook/Instagram/TikTok page. You also agree that you are not entitled to payment/royalties for any photos/videos used of your student.

SOCIAL MEDIA:
Any comments or posts perceived to be obscene, defamatory, threatening, harassing, discriminatory or hateful towards Activated Arts staff, students or families may subject the poster to disciplinary or legal action.

Should you wish to engage on Social Media while identifying as a studio dancer, parent volunteer, or employee, you may only do so with integrity, respect, and adhere to our privacy and confidentiality policy. Any content revealing or referring to sensitive studio information is not allowed to be shared online.

Intellectual property laws (for example, costume design and choreography), must be observed by all studio patrons when posting online. This includes but is not limited to choreography videos, handbooks, and syllabus, etc.

While affiliated with our studio, (for example, images of your child inside Activated Arts or wearing Activated Arts clothing) we will not tolerate any posts that are racially, sexually, physically or religiously offensive.
All matters pertaining directly to the studio – whether it be fees, scheduling, placements or performance opportunities – may not be communicated via Social Media. We have an open door policy and encourage all communication, complaints and feedback to be communicated to the owners directly.

Identifying information of any featured minors that are not under your guardianship, without parental permission, – including full names and ages – must be removed when posting on Social Media.

BULLYING / HARRASSMENT CODE OF CONDUCT:
We provide a safe and supportive community that fosters a lifelong love for dance, creative expression and the performing arts. In order to guarantee that all of our dancers are able to best pursue their passion, we will not tolerate bullying in any form; physical, emotional, social or otherwise. Since our goal is to empower students through quality education, one documented bullying event will have repercussions, which may include immediate termination of enrollment for egregious violations.

We define bullying as any behavior; physical, emotional, verbal, written (either electronically or in person), that detrimentally targets another dancer or staff member. If a membership is terminated due to bullying/harassment, there will be no refunds for such actions.

CONDUCT: Any student or parent/guardian of Activated Arts may be removed from the studio/membership for any of the following violations:
a. Possession or use of alcohol, tobacco, drugs or illegal substances at the studio or at any dance/studio-related activity/event
b. Swearing/cursing or undesirable conduct, language or behavior during dance activities or events. (This includes social media as well – i.e. foul language, disrespectful dialog or photos).
c. Inappropriate sexual contact or vulgar behavior at any studio/dance event.
d. Uncooperative attitude with the coach, other team members, or studio volunteers.
e. Violation of the dance rules and regulations set forth in this agreement.

SUBSTANCE ABUSE/ALTERED MENTAL STATUS: Activated Arts has a zero-tolerance policy for participating in class or performing under the influence of any substances that can alter a student’s ability to participate safely or may cause harm to their teammates by participating - any students found under the influence of substances at any Activated Arts events, in class, or at a competition will be immediately dismissed from the studio without refund.
