STUDIO POLICIES

FEES & TUITION - DANCE

Charged one time per season
$80 per dancer or $120 per family
If registering April-June: $40 per dancer or $60 per family

Adult Program Rates
$23 per class
$14 professional rate per class
$160 for 8 class pack
$60 for 3 class pack - college students

Tuition Policies
Our season runs August 15th through June 14th.
Tuition is billed on the 15th of each month via Go Studio Pro, our class and tuition management system.
All families are required to have a current credit card or bank account on file.
$25 LATE FEE will be assessed if tuition is not paid by the 20th of the month.
Go Studio Pro charges credit card fees of 3.05% or 1% for ACH/bank transfer. Cash/check payments will not be charged this fee.
Tuition is based on an annual amount and remains the same whether there are 3, 4, or 5 weeks of classes per month.
Tuition is pro-rated for your start month only. There are no adjustments for studio closures due to holidays, breaks, or withdrawals.
There is no pro-rated tuition for holiday closures, breaks, or withdrawals.
Tuition and membership fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
A $50 fee will be charged for ISPE processing.
Exceptions for tuition refunds may be granted for serious injury or illness (with accompanying doctor note) or unexpected move.
Class cards are not available for our youth program.
Our youth program is not designed for drop ins. If a student would like to attend a class as a drop in, make the request in advance via email to confirm availability and schedule. There will be a $23 fee for any approved drop in class.
Personalized schedules may be available depending on class availability and studio needs.

Declined Credit Cards & Checks
If your payment is declined, you are required to login to your portal and update.
If credit card is declined when processing tuition, you will have until the 20th of the current month to update and pay or your will be charted a $25 late fee.
A $40 fee will be applied to all returned checks/ACH plus any bank fees incurred.

Withdrawal Policy
Withdrawal of any class must be made in writing via email.
Withdrawals are not available during the final month of the season (May 15th through June 14th).
Notification of withdrawal must be received at least 30 days before the next bill date.
Ex. Submit notice by January 14th to not be billed on February 15th.

REGISTRATION PROCEDURES / TRIAL CLASSES - DANCE
All prospective students are invited to take one complimentary trial class. Free trial classes must be scheduled in advance. You can schedule by emailing the studio at info@coastalballetsd.com
After your complimentary class, a representative from the studio will follow up with you.
If a dancer would like to trial another class (in the same or different style), there is a $23 drop in fee for the class. These must be scheduled in advance.
For pre-ballet dancers, if a dancer needs a second trial at a later time to determine readiness, there is a reduced drop-in fee of $14. After the second trial at $14, any further trials will be the regular $23 drop in fee.

PICK UP AND DROP OFF PROCEDURES
Please pick up your child on time after class.
The studio is not responsible for supervising your child outside the scheduled class time. If you are running late, please contact the studio.

MISSED AND MAKE-UP CLASSES - DANCE
Attendance is monitored regularly.
All dancers are encouraged to attend consistently as this promotes a strong work ethic and will give each dancer the best results in regards to training.
If a dancer is unable to attend class, email the studio with the reason for the absence.
Make-up classes are only available due to illness or injury.
Make-up classes must be scheduled in advance by emailing the studio at info@coastalballetsd.com.
Make-up classes must be completed within one month of the missed class and are not available after a dancer has withdrawn from the class.
Make-up classes may not be transferred to another student.
Classes may be made up in any class type available to the student in their level.
Accounts will not be paused for vacations.

LOBBY
No food in the lobby or studio.
Refrain from loud voices or disruptive behavior in the lobby and studio.
Parents may wait for their dancer in the lobby during class. If a parent has another child with them while waiting, please actively monitor their behavior to ensure the environment remains calm and professional.
No standing on chairs or tables.

BALLET 3 & 4 STUDENTS - DANCE
Students in Ballet 3 must enroll in a minimum of 4 ballet classes each week.
Students in Ballet 4 must enroll in a minimum of 5 ballet classes each week.
Students in Ballet 3 and 4 must enroll in at least one non-ballet class. Options include lyrical, musical theater, jazz, or acro.
The required and suggested classes are meant to compliment our dancers’ training.

VIDEO/PHOTOGRAPHY
Each parent gives permission for their child to be photographed or videotaped during class or rehearsals. Photographs or videos may be used for promotional purposes.
Students and parents/guardians agree to not post photographs or videos of other students without permission from that students’ parent/guardian.

CLASS ETIQUETTE
Students are expected to arrive on time and in proper attire.
Students who arrive more than 10 minutes late to class will not be permitted to participate in class and must watch.
Students will not chew gum or eat in the studio.
Cell phones will not be allowed in the studio. Students should refrain from checking their phones until after class.
Coastal Ballet is non-political and non-sectarian. If you have any class needs based on your personal affiliations, please communicate with the studio.

LIABILITY
Dance training is demanding on the body. All students run the risk of being injured. As a parent of a student, you must agree that you understand these risks and do not hold Coastal Ballet, any instructors, or any other dancers responsible for any injury, loss of property, or illness during participation in any studio related time.
Each parent gives permission for emergency medical care for their child. All parents must complete the medical release form. Dancers and/or parents will communicate any medical concerns or injuries with the studios.

COMMUNICATION
Parents are to stay up to date with studio communications. Please check your email frequently for studio newsletters and other communications.

DANCER DRESS CODE
Ballet Class Dress Code:
Girls:
● Light pink or skin-toned tights
● Light pink or skin-toned ballet slippers (canvas recommended)
● Hair secured in a clean ballet bun. Hair should not have to be redone during class.
● Ballet skirt (optional)

**NOTE: Pre-Ballet Classes also need tap shoes

Leotard colors (any shade in color theme):
Pre-Ballet - Pink
Level 1 - Purple
Level 2 - Green
Level 3 - Blue
Level 4 - Black

Boys:
Tops: White, form-fitting T-shirt or a white leotard.
Bottoms: Black tights (convertible or footed) or black leggings. Younger dancers may wear black shorts.
Shoes: Ballet slippers

Lyrical / Musical Theater / Tap / Jazz Class
Tops: Leotard, form fitting t-shirt or tank top
Bottoms: Leggings or tights
Hair: Pulled back securely into a ponytail or bun to avoid distractions.

Jazz/Lyrical/Musical Theater: Half soles or jazz shoes
Tap: Tap shoes

Hip Hop
Tops: Loose t-shirt, tank top, athletic wear
Bottoms: Baggy sweatpants, joggers, leggings
Hair: Pulled back securely into a ponytail or bun to avoid distractions.
Shoes: Clean sneakers (only used for Hip Hop - not to be worn outside the studio to protect the studio floor.)

PERFORMANCES - DANCE
Two studio wide productions are planned each year: The Nutcracker in December and our Spring Show in May/June.
All registered dancers are expected to participate in both productions.
There is a performance fee for all dancers. The fee includes rehearsals (outside of class time), costumes, theater rental, and production costs.
Dancers may request to be excused from participation in our studio-wide productions if there is a scheduling conflict.

CLASS OBSERVATION - DANCE
Observation of classes is limited in order to provide a focused and undisturbed environment for our students.
Parents/guardians are invited to observe class via the windows looking into the studios during the last class of each month.

KIDS AND TEENS ACTING PROGRAM
No dress code. Be comfy. Bring costumes for scenes when appropriate. Always wear clean, soft soles that won’t mark the floor. It’s an expensive and sensitive Marley dance floor. Ideally, bring a pair of shoes that you only wear to acting class.

CLASS POLICIES
No refunds for missed classes.
Make-up policy: One missed class may be made up with a 30-minute private or small group rehearsal.
Bring a water bottle and a nut-free snack each week (no gum).
Food and phones will stay outside the room in your bag.
Show up on time, ready to work, stay until the end of class.
Pick students up promptly at the end of class. The studio is not responsible for supervising your child outside the scheduled class time. If you are running late, please text Staci: 323.574.4775.
Shoes: Please wear clean, soft-soled shoes to protect the Marley dance flooring.
Coastal Ballet Center for the Arts is non-political and non-sectarian. If you have any class needs based on your personal affiliations, please communicate with the studio.
Photo & Video Release: By attending classes at Coastal Ballet Center for the
Arts, students consent to appearing in promotional photos and videos. Minors will be shown unidentified – no names, tags, or other identifying information will be used. To opt out, please speak to Staci and your request will be honored.
Community Posting: Please do not post photos online that include other children without prior permission from their parent/guardian and do not name or tag any child other than your own.
Kindness Agreement: All students will sign a simple agreement focused on respect, encouragement, and creating a safe, supportive space for everyone.

ADULT DANCE PROGRAM
DRESS CODE
The adult program has no specific dress code. Dancers may wear ballet attire or any comfortable and sensible exercise attire. Form fitting clothing that is easy to move and stretch in is recommended. Ballet shoes are required. Long hair should be pulled back
and up, away from your face and neck.

CLASS POLICIES
*Arrive no later than 10 minutes after the start of class as it is disruptive to your fellow students and to the teachers.
*Be courteous to your fellow students about where and how you place yourself at the barre.
*Please turn your cellphone to silent and leave it in your ballet bag.

COASTAL BALLET CODE OF CONDUCT
Dancers and families are expected to adhere to all parts of the Code of Conduct and studio handbook. Failure to do so may result in action up to and including dismissal from Coastal Ballet.

Develop a team spirit among all members of the Coastal Ballet community.
Show dedication, determination, and desire to be a member of the Coastal Ballet community.
Positively represent Coastal Ballet when out in the greater community, including on Social Media.
Treat all my fellow dancers, all instructors, and families within Coastal Ballet with respect.
Encourage and offer kindness to fellow dancers.
Embrace and welcome all new dancers to the Coastal Ballet community.
Refrain from any negative behavior or chatter towards my teachers and choreographers.
Do not not speak poorly of any other dancers or members of the Coastal Ballet community.
Arrive on time to class, ready to participate actively in all parts of class.
Dancers and/or parents will communicate any medical concerns or injuries with the studio.
Refrain from participating in any disruptive behavior in the studio.
