15.1 Dress Code Policy
A dress code is a tool for personal discipline.
Dance apparel and appropriate dance footwear is required for all programs.
Students will be reminded once of unacceptable apparel, the following time they could be asked to sit out of class.
See Appendix XXIV – the SPACE Dress Code for specific dress code details.

15.2 Code of Conduct
- When entering 573 Main St, students and guardians are to be respectful and aware other programming may be taking place. Studios should not be entered if classes are in progress.
- Students will operate in a respectful manner during any function or event representing the SPACE.
- Student should arrive early enough to be prepared for class.
- Use of the student lounge/change room is a privilege for the SPACE students/participants.
- Any student acting in a disruptive manner could be asked to sit out of class or leave class entirely.
- In extreme cases, or in cases of repetitive disruptive behavior, the Executive Director or designate may speak to any parent/guardian upon the recommendation of the Teacher. The Executive Director or designate shall discuss with the parent/guardian the behavior of the student and will explain the importance of the student’s cooperation in class, the overall effect on the class itself and the potential ramifications. The outcome of this meeting as well as further consultation between the Dance Program Coordinator, Teacher, Executive Director or designate, and Chairperson, may result in a suspension/restriction of the student’s opportunity to continue taking classes.
- With the exception of Teachers for music, attendance or teaching purposes, all cell phones and other electronic devices must be turned off and out of sight while in the studio.

15.3 Attendance Policy
Should any student be absent from three (3) or more classes, the Executive Director or designate may speak to any parent/guardian upon the recommendation of the Teacher. The Executive Director or designate shall discuss with the parent/guardian the reason(s) for the absences of the student and will explain the importance of the student’s regular attendance, the overall effect on the class itself and the potential ramifications. The outcome of this meeting as well as further consultations between the Teacher, Executive Director or designate, and Chairperson, may result in suspension/restriction of the student’s opportunity to continue taking classes.

15.4 Student Lounge/Change Room Policy
- Use of the student lounge/change room is a privilege for the SPACE students/participants.
- Students are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the lounge/change room.
- Students must continue to follow the Code of Conduct while occupying the lounge/change room.
- Students must be dressed, ready for class five (5) minutes prior to class.
- Students must be picked up within a reasonable amount of time after the completion of their class.
- The SPACE is not responsible or liable for any student prior to or after class.

The SPACE is not responsible for any child walking to and from the SPACE.
The SPACE is not reliable for pick up or drop off of any student. Please ensure your child knows who go home with the right person.

15.5 Storm Day Policy
At the discretion of the Executive Director or designate, classes may be cancelled due to inclement weather; classes cancelled may not be rescheduled.

15.8.9 Class Viewing Policy

o The door to the studio shall remain closed during class times.
o In respect of the teaching process, conversing between observers and/or observer to students during instruction time is not acceptable. The Executive Director or Teacher have the right to request that an observer leave the studio if their presence is deemed to interfere in class or student progress.
- Parents or guardians are permitted to watch using the viewing windows. Observers are expected to not be disruptive as we have employees working throughout the office.

Classes are subject to change in the event of low enrolment. the SPACE inc. reserves the right to cancel or change class times due to certain circumstances.
