The Dance Gallery – Media & Technology Policy
Effective: Fall 2025 – Full Season 2025/2026

Media Use Policy
Video and photography may be captured during regular classes, rehearsals, workshops, choreography sessions, or in-studio events as part of The Dance Gallery’s internal and promotional or communications operations. This content may include wide shots, group rehearsal footage, and general class activity.

By enrolling in any Dance Gallery program, families consent to the possibility of their dancer appearing in captured content. Media may be used for internal review, dancer development, or on The Dance Gallery’s official platforms for informational, promotional, communications or archival purposes.

This policy includes footage and photographs captured by Dance Gallery Marketing, teachers, choreographers working on behalf of the studio. All capture, usage and retention is governed by internal protocols focused on safety, discretion, and privacy protection.

If you prefer that your dancer not appear in any media content, you may opt out at any time by emailing info@thedancegallery.ca. We will take all reasonable steps to ensure exclusion from any publicly shared content. Please note that this may require brief repositioning or removal from certain filmed segments.

Dancer Technology & Social Media Policy
To maintain a safe and focused training environment, The Dance Gallery enforces the following studio-wide expectations for device and media use:

Personal phones or devices may not be used during class, rehearsal, or studio instruction time.

Dancers are not permitted to film, photograph, or post content from within the studio to social media at any time.

Livestreaming, recording others, or creating social content from within the studio space is not permitted.

During designated lunch breaks, personal device use is permitted in the lounge area only for quiet entertainment or communication. No filming or photography is permitted during this time.

Dancers may be permitted to record choreography on their own device only with instructor permission and exclusively for personal, at-home practice. This content must not be posted or distributed online.
