1. Purpose
At Studio V Dance, we are committed to creating a positive, respectful, and inspiring environment where all students
can thrive artistically and personally. This policy outlines the expected standards of student conduct and explains the
procedures for addressing inappropriate behavior or rule violations.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all students enrolled in classes, rehearsals, workshops, performances, competitions, and any
studio-sponsored events, including digital platforms (such as social media or group messaging apps). This policy also
applies to all parents and guardians.
3. Code of Conduct
Students at Studio V Dance are expected to:
●Treat all instructors, staff, fellow students, and guests with kindness and respect.
●Use appropriate language at all times.
●Listen to and follow instructions from instructors and staff.
●Be punctual, prepared, and dressed appropriately for all classes and rehearsals.
●Show good sportsmanship and encouragement to others.
●Take care of studio property and help keep spaces clean and safe.
●Refrain from gossip, teasing, bullying, or any form of harassment.
●Use social media responsibly and never post harmful, offensive, or inappropriate content related to the studio,
its students, or staff.
4. Studio Etiquette
To ensure a focused and professional environment, students must also:
●Arrive on time for class.
●Wear the correct attire and maintain proper grooming (e.g., hair secured neatly for class).
●Avoid chewing gum, using mobile phones, or eating during class.
●Use respectful body language (e.g., no eye-rolling, talking back, or disruptive behavior).
5. Prohibited Conduct
The following behaviors are strictly prohibited and may result in disciplinary action, suspension, and/or complete
unenrollment/dismissal from the studio:
●Disrespect toward instructors or fellow students
●Physical aggression or threatening behavior
●Bullying, cyberbullying, or harassment of any kind
●Repeated disruptions to class
●Theft, vandalism, or destruction of property
●The possession or use of alcohol, drugs, vaping devices, or tobacco is strictly prohibited on studio property or
at any event or venue where Studio V is represented
●Any action that puts oneself or others at risk
●Excessive disruptive talking
●Behavior that causes the teacher or other students fear of physical or psychological harm
●Negative physical confrontations or verbal/physical threats
6. Disciplinary Process
We believe in a restorative and educational approach to discipline whenever possible. Our process includes:
1. Verbal and Written Warning – The student is reminded of expectations and given a chance to correct the
behavior. A formal notice is issued, and parents/guardians are informed.
2. Meeting with Student/Parents/Guardians – A sit-down discussion to establish a behavior plan or further
support.
3. Suspension – Temporary removal from classes, rehearsals, or events.
4. Dismissal – Permanent removal from the studio for serious or repeated violations.
Note: Serious misconduct may result in immediate suspension or dismissal without prior warnings, at the discretion of
the Studio Director.
7. Support and Guidance
Students struggling with behavior are encouraged to speak with the Studio Director, Miss Mary. We aim to support
each dancer's development both in and out of the studio and will work collaboratively with families to address
concerns.
8. Parental Involvement
We believe that open communication with families is vital. Parents/guardians will be informed of any behavior
concerns involving their child and may be asked to partner with the studio in resolving issues.
9. Acknowledgment
All students (and a parent/guardian for minors) must read and sign the Student Conduct Policy before beginning
classes. This will be located in your Parent Portal upon registration. Continued enrollment signifies agreement to
follow these guidelines.
