Housekeeping Policy
Jun 15, 2026 09:25 AM
Let’s be excellent together and keep HAPA a beautiful and welcoming space. Each person and family needs to be responsible for their belongings, rubbish and food waste. Our team are not here to clean up after you or wipe up puddles in the toilets. Everyone
has a responsibility to tidy up after themselves and to teach our young students to do the same. Please read the following and take care to avoid leaving the areas we all share in a messy state. If our team is cleaning too much mess during the day or at the end of
the day a cleaning fee will be added in term 2.
1 Bathrooms
Young children must be supervised while using the toilets. Ensure cleanliness in the toilets, proper use of toilet paper and flushing.
Ensure hands are washed and basins are left clean from soap and paper towels. Paper towels are to go in the bin, not on the bench or on the floor. If the bin is full, notify a team member.
2 Cafe areas inside and out including tables and chairs
All rubbish to go in the bins provided. No rubbish left on tables, chairs or on the floor. Tables to be wiped after using for food, drink or anything that makes a mess. If wet, messy shoes are put on chairs, wipe down the chairs so people can sit on them. All food items to be taken when you leave or placed in the bin.
3 Playground areas
No food in the fenced playground areas. Young children to be supervised in play areas to ensure safety and appropriate use of the equipment and respectful treatment of other children.Parents check playground areas for rubbish and belongings before
leaving.
Parents to responsibly discipline their children during altercations and honour their development stage and the other family and temporarily remove their child from the area if they need to.
4 Carpark
Children must be supervised in the carpark areas at all times. Footpaths are to be used when moving between the shed and the main area.
5 Supervision
15 and under children must be actively supervised by a parent. Please note High school students are not permitted to care for younger siblings with no parent present. Supervision includes actively ensuring they are not hurting others or damaging KH Property. Please note Primary students are not permitted to use the tap in the café, parents and high schoolers only.
6. Senior students
Senior students can be responsible for themselves at HAPA once a parent waiver form has been signed. This waiver can be requested from admin. Seniors left unattended must adhere to HAPA expectations and guidelines. Failure to do so will result in the
parent/guardian being called.
7 Out of Bounds
Please stick to the path when going to the shed, no walking behind the main buildings or through the carpark. Ensure students stay in one of our beautiful waiting areas where they can be supervised by you. The kitchen is not for use of the HAPA community – HAPA Staff only unless authorised.
8 Indoor Café
The Indoor Café area is a shared space with Kingdom Hope staff. Your belongings are your responsibility, please don’t leave them unattended. Share the tables and space with others through the day. There are limited power points so having fully charged
devices is helpful. This is not a play space, please keep your children from running and yelling. Disposable cups and kitchen items are the property of Kingdom Hope and are not available for the HAPA community to use. Please bring your own bottle/food
preparation items.
9 Classroom behaviour
We lead with grace and love and keep high expectations of our students so they can all enjoy their time with us and to maintain an optimal learning environment. When bad behaviour needs addressing, we will give three (3) warnings before removing the student
from the class. If this happens you will be notified and offered a meeting.
10 Lost Property
Make sure everyone has all of their belongings with them before you leave. Lost property is not the responsibility of HAPA staff and although we do our best we cannot guarantee your items will be here the following week.
11 Water bottles
Students are to carry a water bottle with them to class. They are doing physical activity and singing/using their voice so hydration is essential.
12 Animals
There are to be no animals on the premises unless it is a service animal.
13 Team
Our team works hard to provide the best experience we can for our students and their families. We love what we do and intentionally build a culture of honour around us in the hope that everyone can thrive. Please know that bullying or pressuring of our team for
any reason will not be tolerated. Thank you for respecting them and honouring their decisions
