The Dance Company of Ocala
Parent/Dancer Agreement
2025–2026 Season
This agreement outlines the expectations, policies, and responsibilities for dancers and parents/guardians participating in programs at The Dance Company of Ocala ("TDC"). By enrolling, you agree to uphold the following terms throughout the dance season.
1. Studio Communication
TDC communicates primarily via email and our studio management system. It is the parent/guardian’s responsibility to check these regularly for updates, schedules, and announcements. Time-sensitive messages (e.g., closures, emergencies) may also be sent via text.
2. Tuition & Payment Policies
Tuition is due on the 1st of each month. A $15 late fee will be applied after the 10th.
Tuition is non-refundable and is based on a monthly course fee, not the number of classes in a month.
Some months may have 2, 3, 4, or 5 classes depending on how the calendar falls. Holidays and planned closures are already factored into tuition rates.
If you wish to withdraw, written notice must be submitted via email at least one month in advance. Tuition will continue to be charged until the official withdrawal date.
If a dancer stops attending without notice, tuition will still be billed monthly. Non-attendance does not count as withdrawal.
No refunds or prorating will be issued for missed classes, scheduling conflicts, or early withdrawal.
In the event of emergencies (e.g., hurricanes), TDC will make every effort to offer a make-up class if possible. No refunds will be given for emergency or weather-related closings.
3. Attendance
Consistent attendance is essential for progress and class continuity.
Excessive absences may result in removal from recital pieces or performances.
Dancers must attend all classes in the two weeks leading up to a performance or recital to participate.
Attendance at dress rehearsal is mandatory for recital participation.
Make-up classes are not offered for missed classes.
4. Class Placement
Class placement is determined by TDC staff based on age, ability, and readiness.
Placement is not negotiable and may change as needed for student development.
5. Dress Code & Studio Etiquette
Dancers must follow the class-specific dress code and arrive with hair neatly secured.
No jewelry in class.
Dancers must be on time, prepared, and respectful.
No gum, food, or phones in the studios.
6. Behavior & Code of Conduct
Respect is expected from all dancers and families toward peers, staff, and the studio.
Disruptive, bullying, or disrespectful behavior may lead to dismissal.
Parents are expected to handle concerns respectfully and directly with TDC staff.
7. Observation Policy
Dancers age 6 and under may have one parent/guardian in the lobby during class.
All other classes may be viewed via our WatchMeGrow camera system.
Siblings are welcome in the lobby only if directly supervised at all times.
8. Recitals & Performances
Recital participation is optional, but families must notify us in advance if they choose not to participate.
Acro, Creative Movement, Mini & Me, and Technique classes do not perform in the recital.
Costume and recital fees are billed separately and due by posted deadlines.
Dancers must attend all classes in the two weeks leading up to the recital.
Dress rehearsal is mandatory. Missing rehearsal will result in removal from the show.
9. Media Release
Photos and videos of dancers may be used for promotional purposes (social media, website, advertising). Dancer names will not be published without separate consent.
10. Injury & Liability
Participation in dance involves a risk of injury. By enrolling, you release and hold harmless The Dance Company of Ocala, its staff, and affiliates from any claims related to injuries on or off studio property.
11. Medical Emergencies
In a medical emergency, TDC staff will contact the parent/guardian on file. If unreachable, TDC is authorized to seek medical care for the child. Families are responsible for related costs.
12. Personal Belongings
TDC is not responsible for lost, stolen, or left-behind items. Dancers should label belongings and leave valuables at home. Lost and found is cleaned out regularly.
