ATTENDANCE: Attendance will be taken at every class. If the teacher must cancel class, this will not count against attendance. Even if you miss your class, you are still paying for that class. Make-up classes may be available IF the teacher cancels the class. If you miss your class you are not automatically able to get a makeup.
*COMPETITION STUDENTS: If you miss more than 3 unexcused practices in one month, you may be asked to come off the competition team. It is imperative for competition students to be at as many practices as possible. You cannot miss more than 8 practices in a total season.
SITTING OUT: If a student is unable to dance, but is feeling well enough to attend class, we expect them to participate by observing so that they will retain key elements of class. Students who feel ill, have a fever, or are exhibiting “contagious†cold symptoms should stay home and rest. Cases of prolonged absence due to illness or injury should be discussed with the teacher.
CODE OF CONDUCT: DANCERS ARE EXPECTED TO BE AT CLASS ON TIME AND PREPARED IN PROPER DANCE ATTIRE. INSTRUCTORS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO DISMISS ANY DANCER FROM CLASS WHOSE ATTITUDES ARE UNSATISFACTORY. HERE AT LEVEL UP WE PROMOTE ALL DANCERS TO TREAT EACH OTHER WITH RESPECT, SUPPORT AND ENCOURAGEMENT.
DANCE CLASS ATTIRE: All students need to wear proper dance attire to class. At no time may a student wear jeans to class. Proper dance attire and shoes are MANDATORY for safety and the overall well being of the student’s dance education. An instructor reserves the right to dismiss a student from class after one warning. Please respect our policy, it is to benefit the students and allow them to become the dancer they desire to be. Leggings, leotards, spandex shorts, running shorts, t-shirts, tanks, and sports bras, are all acceptable dancewear. We do not recommend that you share dance shoes, it is not good for sanitary reasons and does not ensure proper fit of dance shoes.
INSURANCE: LEVEL UP PERFORMING ARTS DOES NOT CARRY MEDICAL INSURANCE FOR ITS STUDENTS. It is required that all dance students be covered by their own family insurance policies and that the studio has copies of each students insurance on file.
SNOW OR BAD WEATHER: Level up generally follows the school closings. Depending on the given situation you should call the studio and check with us. We allow for three snow days per class a year. A 4th snow day will be made up later with no additional cost. All students are expected to attend their snow day make up class.
HOLIDAYS: Holiday dates will be posted and will be given to your child prior to holiday periods included in newsletters. Other cancellations due to competitions or other out of town events will also be posted in advance and stated in newsletters.
PAYMENT: If you are not paid up on your tuition, you will be asked not to return to class until you are paid up.
*COMPETITION STUDENTS: You cannot compete or be entered into a competition until you are paid in full for both tuition and competition fees.
**ALL PAYMENTS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE**
