SPRING POLICY 2026
Mar 11, 2026 11:20 AM
You are enrolled in The Movement Lab's Spring 2026 session.
Please read and sign the policy information provided.
All performing classes will participate in the Spring Performance. Reserve the week of May 25th–May 31st, 2026 for rehearsals and performances.
Retain all important dates and information related to performances and events.
Payment Policy: Tuition is assessed as a monthly fee. While the studio observes scheduled holidays throughout the year, some months may have more than four classes, balancing the schedule annually. Full monthly tuition is required regardless of holidays or student attendance. We do not prorate tuition for missed classes. Payment is due by the first class of each month and is considered late if received after the 5th; a $20.00 late fee applies. There are no refunds for students who withdraw mid-month.
Payments: All families participate in auto-pay unless alternative arrangements are made with the office manager. We accept cash, checks, credit or debit cards, and phone payments. Please submit your payment at the front desk or use the drop slot near the office door. For check payments, include the student's name in the memo. Cash payments should be placed in an envelope labeled with the student's name. Automatic monthly debit is preferred, established during registration. Please inform us of your intended payment method to better accommodate you. *Monthly statements are not issued.*
All payments are non-refundable as tuition secures our instructors.
Late Payments: Late fees will be enforced and automatically applied on the 6th of the month. If payment is not received by the due date, an email notification will be sent indicating that a $20.00 late fee has been added. Accounts that remain delinquent for 30 days will result in withdrawal from classes. Should you encounter special circumstances regarding payment, please contact us in advance to discuss options and possibly avoid late fees or withdrawal.
Class Withdrawal: Please notify the office manager if you need to withdraw from a class.
Class Changes: A $10 fee applies for transferring between classes, permitted only during the session's first month. Notify the office to ensure accurate record-keeping.
Returned Checks: Any returned check incurs a $30.00 fee.
Absences: Make-up classes are not offered for student absences. Kindly notify us in advance if your dancer will miss class. Consistent attendance supports both instructors and classmates. Excessive absences may result in withdrawal from the class. If an instructor must cancel, efforts will be made to reschedule with another instructor or arrange a make-up session. Instructor substitutions may occur for other commitments as well.
Please enroll only if you are committed to the full session. Program participation requests cannot be accommodated.
Mandatory dress rehearsals precede each performance session. The Spring Performance Week is scheduled for May 25th–May 31st, 2026, at Spreckels Performing Arts Theater in Rohnert Park.
Pre-sale tickets will be sold exclusively by Spreckels online, with details announced on our website.
Non-compliance with studio policies may result in removal from future enrollment. The studio reserves the right to refuse service at its discretion.
Costumes: Each student is required to pay $75.00 per class necessitating a costume, collected at session start. Costumes remain the property of the student, with selection determined by the instructor. Shoes and additional accessories are not included.
Volunteers: Chaperone sign-ups will be available in the lobby as the performance date approaches. Further information regarding volunteer roles and performance logistics will be provided closer to the event.
Dress Code
We aim to cultivate a professional, safe, and inclusive environment that prepares students for potential opportunities beyond our studio. To support this, a new dress code will be implemented, ensuring unity and professionalism. Attire must allow unrestricted movement suitable for each dance genre, as outlined below:
• Ballet & Technique:
• Hair secured in a bun, black leotard with tights or black leggings, ballet shoes.
• Non-performing adult ballet: tight-fitting athletic attire allowing visibility of body alignment.
• Jazz, Tap & Modern:
• Black attire (top must provide full coverage, no midriffs).
• Black leggings or shorts (recommended inseam: 5”-7”, no visible undergarments).
• Jazz shoes or lyrical half soles.
• Hair tied back in a ponytail.
• Hip Hop:
• Athletic wear, sweatpants, or leggings (jeans prohibited).
• Shirts must cover the abdomen (no midriffs).
• Clean tennis shoes required (slippers/sandals prohibited).
• Hair styled in a ponytail or half up.
• Intermediate/Advanced dancers should bring knee pads.
Clothing that exposes the torso, bra tops, or otherwise inappropriate attire are not permitted. Instructors may request students to change if attire does not meet standards.
Class Attendance: Students should arrive on time, prepared, and with appropriate footwear and hair secured away from the face. Repeated absences may result in removal from performances. Consistent attendance is encouraged unless illness prevents participation.
Parents: Seating is available in the lobby for observation; however, if this distracts the student, blinds may be closed or parents may be asked to wait elsewhere. Students should arrive no earlier than ten minutes before class. Please promptly communicate changes in your contact information.
Behavior Policy: Our studio maintains a safe and positive learning atmosphere. Support from parents is essential in preparing students for class. Children aged 12 and under are to line up outside the classroom prior to class. Respectful behavior toward instructors and peers is expected at all times. If misbehavior occurs, a verbal warning will be issued, followed by a five-minute break with a parent if necessary. Persistent issues will lead to dismissal from class and a parent-instructor conference.
Please disclose any physical, learning, or behavioral needs upon registration to help us support all students.
Lost & Found: Items left in the studio will be stored in the lobby’s lost-and-found container. Label belongings to facilitate returns. Unclaimed items will be donated at session’s end.
Website: Please consult the Lobby Information Board or visit www.DancersMovementLab.com for updates regarding workshops, extra rehearsals, and important announcements.
