Dress code, Shoes and what to wear

NEW UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS for 2025

Students MUST be wearing appropriate DANCE CLOTHING
LEOTARDS, skirts, crossovers for younger classes and Ballet (any colour)

BOTTOMS-Black leggings, leotards, dance tights, bike pants,
TOPS- black or white singlet, fitted t-shirt or fitted long sleeve for ALL other classes
Keep it classy, black and white activewear if you are not wearing MDS uniform
Hiphop- loose tshirts are allowed

Every sport requires a uniform as this does not restrict their movement, and allows for technique corrections
The MDS uniform is also accepted and is available for purchase at reception

CORRECT SHOES
Here is a list of which shoes each age group requires!

TINY TOTS & KINDER BALLET/JAZZ
3-4yrs- PINK BALLET SHOE

JAZZ CLASSES
All age groups are required to wear TAN JAZZ SHOE (no laces)

Boys are to wear a black ballet shoe OR black jazz shoe.

TAP-
All age groups require TAN tap shoes.

BALLET-
All age groups require pink ballet shoes

HIP HOP-
sneakers

ACRO-
bare feet

MUSICAL THEATRE-
TBC


Below is a list of where you can purchase and be able to get the shoe fitted correctly, (ask for it a little bit bigger)

Energetics- Fountain Gate
Capezio- Mornington
Ballroom Blitz- Cranbourne

Hair MUST be tied back neatly.
NO HAIR DOWN at dancing!
SCHOOL UNIFORMS, AND CASUAL STREET WEAR is NOT appropriate dance wear

Parent Expectations:
Your student is to be on time to class;
Your student is to wear the required dance shoes for their age;
Your student’s hair to be neatly tied back/off their face;
Park only in MDS signed parking or on street parking;
Any fines for using unallocated parking spots will be passed on to the parent.
