Policies and Procedures
Meaningful Movements Dance Company believes that all populations benefit from the artistic expression of dance. Our studio strives to teach a variety of dance styles with a fun but technical approach. Every individual deserves the opportunity to dance despite age or ability level. Aside from dancing, MMDC aims to improve the students social, emotional, and physical wellness.
GENERAL POLICIES:
No food, drinks, or gum on the dance floor. Please do not enter the dance room during instruction
Children under 6 years must have an adult responsible for him/her present in the waiting area.
Please dispose of all your trash/waste items before leaving studio. No reimbursements or prorated tuition is given for missed or canceled classes. Makeup classes will be made if possible. No cell phones or other electronics in class No loose jewelry during dance class Children are not to leave the studio without asking permission. Respectful attitude is required during all dance classes.
WEATHER POLICY:
If Seneca schools are canceled for weather, all classes for the evening will be canceled. Please check the MMDC Facebook page for closing related to weather.
PARENT VIEWING AND OBSERVATION:
All classes are closed unless otherwise stated by the instructor.
Tuition & Payment:
It is your responsibility to keep your dancers account up to date. Tuition is due the first class of the month and is late after the 20th of each month. Past due amounts will be charged a $10 late fee. Tuition is non refundable and non transferable MMDC honors major holidays the Seneca School District recognizes. Tuition is the same no matter how many classes are in the month. Payment must be made by cash, check, or through your parent portal Payments are delivered in the drop box titled MMDC Tuition or to Ashley Gassaway.
Returned checks will be charged a $25 fee. This must be paid in cash. An Annual enrollment fee of $20.00 is required upon enrollment.
Costumes:
Each dancer will perform in our May Recital.
- Your first costume payment is due November 1st in addition to your monthly tuition.
- The remaining costume balance will be due December 1st in addition to your monthly tuition.
- No costumes are ordered until costume money is received and tuition is paid to date.
- Costumes will be posted for viewing prior to any payments.
- Costume money is nonrefundable if the child decides to quit dancing.
- Each costume will be approximately $75.00.
Dress Code:
The students dress code has been created to allow the class teacher to see the dancers alignment and body position. Inappropriate dressing that causes disruption of the class is prohibited.
The dancers are to wear clothes that will allow them to move freely!
General guidelines for appropriate dressing:
-Leotard, tight fitting shirts, or camisole
-Tights
-Tight fitting shorts, pants, capri (please no basketball shorts)
-Appropriate dance shoes
-Hair groomed away from face
General guidelines for inappropriate dressing:
-Headgear including hats, caps, bandanas, sunglasses, stocking caps, and any other distracting headgear is not to be worn in class.
-Dresses
-Pants that are too long
Illness or Injury:
Our goal is to promote overall health and well being. One way we achieve this is by keeping all children free of sickness. If your child is ill and running a fever please do not send them to dance. They must be fever free for 24 hours before returning to insure no germs are spread that will result in illness. If they have had a new injury of which we are not aware you must send a note explaining their condition and any precautions that must be taken. It is important the instructor is informed so they can modify and adapt the class and prevent further injury.
Nonrefundable Policy:
All fees paid including: enrollment fee, cost of shoes, costume fee, and monthly tuition is nonrefundable.
