KMSD Waivers & Policies
Welcome to Kerry Moore School of Dance! We’re so happy to have you here with us.
Please read the following policies carefully... they help keep our dancers safe, our classes running smoothly, and our community happy. By checking “I Agree” in the Parent Portal, you acknowledge you’ve read and agree to these policies.
1. Liability Waiver
I understand that dance is a physical activity and may involve risk of injury. I release and hold harmless Kerry Moore School of Dance, its staff, and instructors from any liability for injuries sustained while participating in classes, rehearsals, performances, or events at or organized by KMSD.
2. Medical Emergency Authorization
If my dancer needs medical attention and I cannot be reached, I authorize KMSD staff to seek emergency medical care on my behalf. I accept responsibility for any medical costs incurred.
3. Payment Policy
Monthly tuition is due on the first of each month.
Yearly payments are accepted. Pay in full before September 1 and receive 5% off regular season tuition (HST applies; discount not valid for special classes).
Late payments may be subject to a fee.
4. Refund & Withdrawal Policy
If paying monthly: the current month’s tuition is due; future payments will be stopped.
If paying for the year in full: a prorated refund will be given for unused months starting from the next month.
No refunds on costumes once ordered.
No refunds after March 1 due to choreography and re-blocking requirements.
Please notify the studio if you intend to withdraw from classes.
5. Attendance & Commitment Policy
Regular attendance is important for skill development and choreography.
Frequent absences may affect performance opportunities.
Dress rehearsal attendance is mandatory. A schedule will be available as we get closer. Please see the Important Dates under files.
6. Code of Conduct
We expect kindness, respect, and positivity from all dancers, parents, and visitors. Bullying, gossip, or disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated.
7. Costume Policy
Costumes are ordered months in advance. Payment deadlines must be met to receive costumes on time. Costume payments will be added to your account and are due no later than Nov. 15th.
8. Performance Policy
Dancers must attend all required rehearsals to perform. Performance dates and ticket sale dates are listed under Important Dates in files.
9. Photo & Social Media Policy
I understand that KMSD may use class and performance photos or videos for studio marketing and social media.
10. Health & Safety Policy
If your dancer is unwell, please keep them home to prevent the spread of illness. If your dancer is injured but able to attend, they are encouraged to attend and watch the class.
11. Lobby & Observation Policy
To keep distractions to a minimum, class observation will be limited at times. If we have the observation windows closed, they will be opened approximately 10 minutes before the end of each class. Please supervise siblings in the lobby at all times.
12. Inclement Weather & Cancellations
Cancellations due to weather will be announced by email, social media and the BAND App.
13. Lost & Found
KMSD is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Please label all belongings. Items left behind will be placed in the lost & found bin for a limited time.
14. Pick-up / Drop-off Procedures
Younger dancers must be escorted into the building and picked up promptly after class. Please call if you will be late.
15. Communication Guidelines

The Band app is great for us to send out quick messages such as: boot mixups, snow closures etc... You can also contact us via the Band App.
