FREED 2025-2026 Parent and Student WAIVER/CONTRACT
1. HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT SUPPORT:
I will not enter the FREED buildings or Tomoka Christian Church during rehearsals when I am sick, nor will I send a sick child.
2. ENROLLMENT FEE:
I agreed to pay the $30 enrollment fee if my child begins one or more FREED classes. Returning students who have taken a break will be charged the $30 fee again when they re-enroll. Year-round students will not be charged this fee.
3. PRODUCTION/ACTIVITY FEE:
We are in year-round classes. I agree to pay the $50 production fee per show to cover studio and musical expenses if my child is taking one or more FREED performing classes. All FREED students will be charged this fee in August and January of each year. Only Music Theatre will be charged a Production/Activity Fee in June, and will pay a small script book fee for each script they receive.
4. COSTUME RENTAL FEE:
I agree to pay a $30 costume rental fee for each class in which my child is enrolled. There are two exceptions to this guideline. Company Ballet dancers are charged $90. Music Theatre students are charged $60.
I understand the costume rental fee is charged in August for our November musical and in January for our May musical. Only Music Theatre students are charged a costume rental fee in June for our July musical.
5. MONTHLY TUITION:
I will pay tuition on or before the first day of each month my child is enrolled in classes at FREED. I will pay a late fee of $1 per day for each day my tuition payment is late.
If I choose to enroll in auto-pay, a 2.75% convenience fee will be charged by the Dance Studio Pro software company. I understand FREED Performing Arts does not benefit from this fee. This is a third-party service provided for me.
6. REFUND POLICY:
I am aware I will not receive a refund for any classes my child or I have taken. I will not receive a refund for a month I have committed to.
I understand that the registration fee covers the costs of staff and software used to enroll my child; therefore, it is nonrefundable.
I understand that production fees, as well as costume rental fees, will not be refunded after thirty days from the date of my and/or my child's enrollment.
7. UNIFORMS:
I will purchase the exact, required dress code uniform for each class my child is attending within one month of joining any FREED class.
I will purchase all specified class items from the list posted on the FREED Dress Code and in the Dance Depot store binder.
I understand dress code variations are not permissible. All dancers must wear their uniform to every class, unless the artistic director announces special dress-up days or events, such as our annual December Christmas Dress Up Month.
I'm aware that female dancers must wear their hair in a neat, secure bun to all classes, except for Music Theatre and Hip-Hop students, who may wear their hair in ponytails.
I will make sure my child leaves jewelry and valuables at home. I am aware that the FREED Performing Arts, Inc. company and its staff will not be held responsible if this rule is broken.
Small post earrings are the only acceptable jewelry items FREED students may wear. While makeup is required for FREED musicals, I understand that makeup for minors is strongly discouraged for weekly classes.
8. BEHAVIOR:
I am fully aware that FREED Performing Arts, Inc. is a nonprofit, faith-based organization that provides a safe environment for Christian parents to send their children to receive performing arts training through a Christian worldview, preserves the season of innocence called childhood in children's lives, and trains student performers to bring glory to Jesus Christ through excellence of their behavior and craft.
Each student of my family agrees to behave in a respectful and wholesome manner. I understand that any student who continues to display ungodly behavior, talk excessively during classes, and/or does not respect the FREED policies or staff is not contributing to the vision of this company and will be dismissed from the program without refund upon the third offense.
Behavior deemed extreme by the FREED board members may result in a student being dismissed after one offense.
I am aware that defacing property, misusing equipment, cartwheels through crowds, running in the hallway, standing on our garden wall, and the like are considered unprofessional and unsafe behaviors and will not be tolerated.
To maintain the professional work environment for parents, grandparents, family members, guests, and the FREED staff, all siblings of FREED students who happen to be in designated waiting areas must not disturb classes in any way. I am aware that children must sit near a parent or guardian at all times.
9. CLASS AND PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE:
I agree to follow the FREED company Holidays & Events calendar and will watch for emails to obtain information and updates about rehearsals, photo shoots, shows, events, and days off.
I will follow local news reports for details during severe weather conditions AND other emergencies.
I am aware that FREED Performing Arts, Inc. will cancel classes for the safety of students, parents, and staff during treacherous weather conditions in Ormond Beach.
I understand there will be no classes on show weeks unless otherwise specified on our calendar due to dress rehearsals and musicals, all held at Tomoka Christian Church.
10. PHOTO RELEASE:
I release FREED Performing Arts, Inc. to use my and/or my child's videos, photos, voice, likeness, and talent for FREED or FREED-designated promotional purposes and to further the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
I understand that students and/or parents unwilling or unable to sign this release will be unable to join and participate in our programs.
Classwork and performances are subject to public viewing, recording, and/or future promotion.
11. GUM, FOOD & DRINKS:
I will not chew gum or eat food in any of the studio rooms or in the FREED Student Center. I will eat outside or in the FREED Welcome Center and will clean up my area and wipe down the floor if I spill any food or drink on it.
12. VOLUNTEER HOURS:
I agree to volunteer at rehearsals and shows as needed to ensure the shows run safely and smoothly.
13. STUDENT PICKUP:
I understand that any parent or legal guardian of a student is responsible for staying in the plaza if the person has a child in the program under the age of six or any child with a medical condition and/or special needs.
I will arrive to pick up my child or have a safe and responsible person assigned to do so before the class ending time.
If I have an elementary-aged child, they do not have permission to leave the FREED building until I or the person I designate for pickup has seen them, to ensure their safety.
I will pick up my children, ages twelve and under, at the garden walkway so I can keep them safe from traffic and strangers.
I will pick up my child on time.
14. MEDICAL AUTHORIZATION AND RELEASE:
In an emergency requiring medical attention, for which I shall pay and not hold FREED Performing Arts, Inc. or Tomoka Christian Church responsible, I authorize the representatives of FREED Performing Arts, Inc. and/or Tomoka Christian Church to take me (or my child) to the nearest hospital.
I also authorize minor first aid as needed for me (or my child). I will fill out the required medical information under my child's/children's account/accounts to speed up my child's care and avoid dangerous situations in case of an emergency.
15. AUDITION PRIVILEGES for Music Theatre:
My child may audition for lead and supporting acting parts in FREED performances ONLY if the student is enrolled in Music Theatre and his/her account does not have an outstanding balance.
I understand that singers and actors who miss rehearsals may be considered for cuts from the lead parts in our shows and placed in the ensemble to ensure stability for our committed students and overall productions. If a student is out sick, he/she must show a strong commitment to rehearsing at home.
If my child takes four or more classes, I agree to provide a dresser during dress rehearsals and shows to prevent delays due to multiple, quick costume changes.
16. DROPPED FROM CLASSES:
If my child's tuition is thirty or more days late, my child will be dropped from all classes until the tuition is brought up to date, meaning my account is clear.
17. WITHDRAW:
I understand I may withdraw my child from classes online if my child or I wish to do so. I will not withdraw my child within two months of the upcoming show date. I understand this practice causes hardship on the studio, my child's instructors, and the students in my child's class.
18. EARLY ENTRANCE TICKETS:
Nonrefundable early entrance tickets will be on sale through my parent portal, which will provide me with one assigned seat per ticket. Infants in a parent's lap do not need a ticket, but children sitting in a seat will. All other guests may enter the venue for free after on-time parents are seated in the prime seats.
19. MUSICALS/RECITALS:
I understand that if my child misses three classes within three months of a Musical, he/she may continue classes as an understudy and ensemble member, but will forfeit his/her part in the performance.
20. MEMBERSHIP COMMITMENT:
My child's enrollment in any FREED class at FREED Performing Arts, Inc. confirms that I am in complete agreement with all the policies and procedures outlined in this contract. I understand I will be notified via email if there are any updates to this contract.
Blessings,
